Very important info! Be sure to request this of your vet next time you're in for a check-up!

More pets are lost during the holidays than at any other time of year due to vacations, travel, and visitors. The best thing you can do for your pet is have them wear collars with tags, but microchips are also important. Most people think about the immediate loss of their pet and don't think about the long-term. If your pet gets rehomed or taken by someone, microchips can help locate them long after they've gone missing. If a rescue, vet, or shelter locates a chip that is not registered to the person who has the dog, they are supposed to contact you.

If you have taken that step and had a chip implanted, please ensure you have registered the chip, updated your info, and verified that your information is correct.

Pets are reported every day, and too many have unregistered chips or outdated info.

Also, make sure your cell phone mailbox is not full so you can get calls.

At Camp Run-A-Mutt, safety is our top concern, both IN and OUT of Camp!

Did you know that approximately 1 in 3 dogs will go missing in its lifetime? The good news is that 93% of dogs are also recovered and reunited with their owners. But we want to see this number be 100%!

Camp Run-A-Mutt has partnered with Genius Tag, which is a smart pet ID tag with Lost & Found Technology. Their tags have a QR code that can be scanned by any smart phone, will automatically send a notification to the dog's owner (that's YOU), and allows for a faster reunion!

BONUS: the rescuer also sees a profile of your dog - their name, age, medical needs and behavior notes (i.e. are they ok around other dogs?). This can help them better care for your pup until you can be reunited.
