The Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Foundation presents the Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Open Bridle at the 2024 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity on Saturday evening, September 14! The champions will add their name to the coveted perpetual "Boots" trophy, which is a bronze cast of Sherri Gilkerson's boots and spurs, along with other beautiful awards sponsored by the Foundation and their supporters. It is an honor to celebrate Sherri's life and her accomplishments as a horsewoman each year at the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity. We're just a few weeks away from the 2024 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity, and here are the patterns! All futurity divisions will be running Pattern 2 (lope-in), and all Derby divisions and Horse Show classes will be running Pattern 11 (lope-in). Printable patterns can also be downloaded from our website via the Quick Link at www.renosnafflebitfuturity.com.

Entry Confirmations (to-date) are also posted on the website, so please review and submit any changes to [email protected]. If you haven't entered yet, it's not too late to enter via the Online Entry Form before the September 5 draw date! We'll see you in Reno!

Doug Williamson was one-of-a-kind… An outstanding horseman and cowboy, a legend in the cow horse world, and a friend to many. We are so fortunate to have this video of he and Smoky Pritchett talking about his life when Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity presented Doug with the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award.

We’re all gonna miss him dearly, and our thoughts and prayers are with Carol and the rest of his family.

The family and friends of Jimmie Paul will present the annual Jimmie Paul/Tenlight Memorial Open Two Rein class at the 2024 Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity! The 2024 champions will add their names under 2023 champions, Smooth Outta Style and Tucker Robinson, on the perpetual trophy created MincerSilversmiths and donated by Jimmie's family and friends. The Reno class was named in Jimmie's memory and his champion horse, Tenlight, in 2020 after his passing earlier that year.
