*** Also check health certificates on both dam & sire of the litter.
For Cane Corso you should expect that your breeder tests their dogs for the following:

Hips: OFA, OVC or PennHIP evaluation
Elbows: OFA or OVC evaluation
Cardiac: OFA evaluation

If your breeder does not offer those health certifications, find one that does - and the results of all tests are good. You can never completely guarantee health, but you sure can stack the deck in your favor.

Learn about each test so you know what you're looking at when you do see the certificates.

DO NOT take a breeder's word for it, "Oh we don't test for that because we've NEVER had any issue in all the years we've been breeding!"

This page was created after my dog's breeder's photos were stolen (on numerous occasions) and posted on Facebook fake breeder pages to "sell" puppies the sellers did not own. THIS IS VERY COMMON!

We reported the pages and stolen photos numerous times eventually getting a couple pages deleted. Then we watermarked the photos with the kennel name assuming the scammers would look elsewhere for photos. What happened next? One of the past scammers opened a new fake page and AGAIN used her photos - YES, the one's with the kennel logo on them!

Any time I saw people commenting on the photos (usually about their interest in purchasing) I'd send them a private message telling them the person they're corresponding with did not own these puppies and most likely didn't own ANY puppies! For some, it was too late - deposits had already been sent - but at least I stopped them from sending the balance and then waiting excitedly at the airport for a puppy that would never arrive.

PLEASE do your homework! Any page that does not have MANY YEARS of past customers posting comments, photos of their new puppies growing up, reviews, etc. is probably not a real page! There must be an address for the kennel that you can go to visit and see the puppies.
