SURPRISE!!! As some may be aware, in July I made the decision to sell my entire herd of 15 goats. The transition from having kids yearly and milking to nothing was extremely upsetting. Around this time of year, I would typically be welcoming new kids. Upon moving out of my parents' home, I regrettably chose to sell my herd. This decision bothered me daily, as my goats were a significant source of motivation and something I looked forward to milking every morning. I am thrilled to announce that I will be starting anew, as two registered yearlings will be joining me on Sunday. I have waited for what feels like an eternity to once again have goats in the barn.

My last doe to get bred was Fancy… well I was hoping she held off until August-September! But it looks like she’s ready to be a mama in August and got bred yesterday. I’ve never had a doe kidding in August but we shall see! I’m gonna do a ultrasound in 45 days and see what’s happening in there

Paige is a great looking doe! I’m pretty impressed with how she’s growing although she’s still nursing from her mother so I’m getting like 1 cup from a doe who normally gives me 7😅

⚠️If you are easily disturbed this is your warning to scroll⚠️ we had to develop a solution to reduce Lola’s swelling following her traumatic kidding. We blended preparation H and Neosporin 50/50 and applied for several days, day and night, and I have witnessed a substantial decrease in her swelling. So if you have a doe that kidded and she is severely swollen and bruised please note what medication to apply.

✨Lola update✨please refer to the original post if you haven’t already, to get the full picture. I’m thrilled to report she’s overcoming a major hurdle, i believed she passed her placenta! Post-kidding, her swollen lady bits raised concerns of a prolapse, but fortunately, last night’s treatment with Preparation H and Neosporin has brought noticeable relief! She’s fueling up on grain, hay, and peanuts, although molasses water isn’t her thing. Our milking session this morning was a triumph, and we’re grateful for the liquid gold milk! As she adjusts to being milked, I aim to keep her production steady. It’s heartening to see her coping remarkably well without her kids. My heartfelt thanks to everyone for your unwavering love and support!❤️

We had an incredibly eventful and eye-opening night! Lola had 26 days left and she lost her ligaments early today. At 8:45 she started pushing and an extremely premature but breathing buckling came out and she wanted absolutely nothing to do with him, it took her awhile longer before she decided to push again and this time the bubble wasn’t popping to this kid and she quit pushing, finally with a little bit of help she pushed out another extremely premature buckling! She had no interest in caring for these kids nor even wanting to push them out. They both were alive for a short matter of minutes! Lola needs a close eye kept because I’m not sure she’s gonna pass her placenta. Please remember, farming isn’t sunshine and rainbows! I’m thankful for the help of my mom and aunt❤️
