Whinnie is an adventurous gal and is always game to check out new things! Her favorite toy to chew on is a stick! Whinnie has a medium energy level and wants to please. Whinnie is still looking for the perfect family - she does well with other dogs, is tolerant of cats, and does amazing with kids. She's kennel trained and almost fully house trained (she's not had an accident in a long time).

She's approximately 7 months old and one of the last remaining husky mix litter(41% husky/ 30% guard breeds / 27% herding breeds). Whinnie has been fully vetted including vaccinations, spay, heartworm tested negative, microchipped, and is current on flea/tick/heartworm medications.

Our food shelves are about empty! Can you help? We accept any brand of food - we do mix to help avoid upset tummies. Purina, Diamond, Retriever and Victor are some of our favorites, but again, any brand will do.

Drop off at our local Tractor Supply on East Highway 212 - Watertown anytime during their business hours. They will take orders for us over the phone(605-886-2735) OR you can order online (www.tractorsupply.com) and select IN STORE PICK UP (for Watertown Store) and list Sarah's Treasures as the Pick Up person.

This new face shows exactly how thankful he is to be rescued. Noah is one of our most recent arrivals. His intake photo shows just how scared he was…and his arrival into rescue shows just how joyous he is to be saved! This sweet boy is bashful at first, but truly just wants to please. He’s good with other dogs, and friendly with the kids. He is kennel trained and no accidents so far! He’s currently enrolled in obedience classes with Happy Tails K-9 Training and is just a star!

Hello everyone!
I know we’ve been a little bit quiet as of late on social media, but I promise you it’s anything but quiet behind the scenes!

We’ve had a few adoptions/pending adoptions including – Nala (German Shepherd), Caley (Shepherd mix), Diesel (Husky Mix Pup), and Buddy (Border Collie) AND we’re also processing a few other applications as well.

Please be patient with us as we work through the influx of applications – we speak directly with each applicant. We also check references and arrange home visits. This is standard procedure. We are all volunteers and most of us work full time jobs outside of our volunteer work. We also have families and lives as well. We promise you we are trying our best to be efficient and quick.

There are many faucets to rescue and we are juggling all of them with a normal life. We are running to pick up, drop off, go to vet appointments, save lives, deal with feeding, cleaning, and medicating, and answer messages. We do this for FREE – we may choose what we do, but rescuers are who we are.

Look at this happy new face! Meet Ethel, and young pup guessed to be 10-12 months old. She just recently arrived to rescue and is settling in nicely, but so far she has proved to be great with dogs and she loves the kids. She is working on her basic manners and is kennel trained and not had any accidents so far. We think she is a Beagle/Lab/Shepherd type mix and will be available for adoption soon!

Buddy is a sweet ol’ guy who just wants to share his adoration and love with his forever family! He’s more mellow, but still loves going for walks and has even been perfecting his off leash skills! Buddy is house trained and knows most of his basic obedience. He loves to please. He’s been great with all of the children he’s met and enjoys giving kisses. He’s great with other dogs, both large and small but he’s not a fan of high energy companions – he likes to just hang out, not wrestle. Buddy doesn’t really pay attention to the small critters around and has ignored the cats he’s met.

Oliver is such a loving boy who is patiently waiting for his forever family to find him! We believe him to be a lab mix and he adores attention and likes to think he is a lap dog! He’s good with other dogs and enjoys playtime in the yard! He thrives with structured walks and would make an amazing hiking buddy! He’s a smart boy and he likes to learn new tricks and commands! Ollie would do well with kids even though he currently isn’t fostered with any. Ollie is housetrained. He can’t wait to impress you with his loving personality!

Chase is one of Mama Sadie's pups who's still searching for his forever home. A bit shy at first, he warms up quickly and loves to please his people. Hunter is a sweet and loving boy with a strong German Shepherd personality. He's good with other dogs and he seems to do well with children he's met, but he's not currently fostering with any. He needs a strong leader who will let him know that they have it all handled and he need not worry. Once he has that security, he bonds hard and is the bestest boy!

It's not very often we get to brag that Mama has found her home before her puppies, but in Sadie's case, that's absolutely what we are going to do!

This girl hit the jackpot and found her person! She fit in exactly as if she had always belonged. Our hearts are so filled with love and cannot thank her new mama enough for taking a chance and choosing her!

Look at this Handsome Fella! Meet Batman! He's busy settling into his foster home. He's getting all his vetting cares taken right now and we're learning a little more about him, then he'll be on the hunt for a forever home!

So far, he's proven he's dog friendly and he's a bit of an escape artist. He's appears to be house trained, but needs to be watched for marking behaviors (easily corrected).

This caught my eye. Everyday we get calls for owner surrenders, multiple calls every excuse in the book. We are tired, we are overwhelmed. We need fosters for adult dogs. Juvenile dogs.

The Titanic represents the community. The community who is dumping their dogs and refusing to alter them. 💔
It also represents The backyard breeders adding to the problem. This ship seems to have hit an iceberg and certainly feels like it’s sinking. ⛴️
🛟 The dogs in the water represent the strays on the street and the dogs in the shelter.
The rafts in the water are the rescues saving the dogs we can.
A Rescue’s boat is very heavy and full of “the community’s dogs”. Yet somehow, we keep these dogs out of that freezing water. 💪
The burden is great, Most of us barely staying afloat emotionally and financially.⁉️
Every day in rescue we adjudicate life and death by gatekeeping who can get on the boat.
🛟Every time a rescue takes an owner surrender - we have to somehow make room on our little raft for that dog. If we bring them on the raft, another dog out there in the freezing water gets to die.
Are you thinking of surrendering your dog?
That dog is taking a seat from one of the dogs already freezing in the water.
We don’t care what your excuses are. Be accountable for your animal. Spay and neuter. Don’t dump your responsibility on an overwhelmed system or rescue. There are dogs freezing in that water. The community’s dogs.

Simple Analogy—Why we can’t saved them all…

Every time rescue is asked to take an owner surrender- we have to somehow make room on our little raft for that dog.
When an owner says stuff like “I don’t have time to give them the best life” or “I have to move” or “they have too much anxiety” it really falls flat because that means if we bring them on the raft, another dog out there in the freezing water gets to die.

Every day rescue adjudicate life and death by gate keeping who can get on the boat.

Rescues and shelters are the tiny Rescue Boats.

The Ship is our community at large.

The iceberg is comprised of puppy mills, careless owners, backyard breeders, and a$$hats who won’t spay/neuter.

Dobby says THANK YOU - to all the wonderful people who donated from his wish list! He is the happiest boy and sends all his kisses to you for your donations!

Dobby eats 2 small cans of food a day, plus he has free access to slightly softened (with water) hard food. He only has a couple teeth left on the side they did his dental, and he's preparing to brave again and go to the vet on the 28th to have the other side of his mouth done. After surgery he'll be strictly on canned food for about a week while his mouth heals.

Donations towards his vet bill are greatly appreciated as well, but we cannot thank you enough for those of you who have already donated!
