MR / MRS “FIX IT”!
Most people adopt a shelter dog because they are kind, generous people with a genuine love for dogs. Because they are caring individuals they tend to want to see fast results. In many cases this is not possible. Expectations need to be realistic – regardless of the dog’s history. Generally speaking, there are no quick fixes. In most cases it takes time, patience & understanding to see improvements - & the first things the new dog in a household needs is ........... TIME, & SPACE!

In a small town, there was a friendly dog named Charlie. He was an English Setter with Brown and white fur. Charlie lived on the streets and often slept under a big tree in the park. One sunny morning, a kind woman named Linda saw Charlie. She noticed how thin and dirty he was and decided to help him.

Linda gently called Charlie and gave him some food. Charlie was scared at first, but he slowly trusted her. Linda took Charlie to her sanctuary. She gave him a bath, making his fur clean and shiny again. She also took him to the vet to make sure he was healthy.

Over time, Charlie became happy and playful in Linda's sanctuary. He loved to run around in her backyard. One day, a family saw Charlie on the sanctuary's page. They were looking for a dog to adopt. When they saw Charlie, they fell in love with him. He was friendly and gentle.

Linda was sad to say goodbye but knew it was best for Charlie. The family took Charlie to their home in the UK where he had his own bed and lots of space to play. Charlie felt loved and safe with his new family. He had finally found a happy home.

As an animal sanctuary in Greece, we are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for animals who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful situations. Our ultimate goal is to promote animal welfare and make a positive impact on the lives of animals.

We believe that every animal deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and compassion. That's why we're working tirelessly to achieve our specific goals, such as running trap, neuter, release programs to control the stray animal population, providing rehabilitation and care for rescued animals, finding loving homes for adoptable animals, educating the public about animal welfare, promoting veganism, and offering hospice care for animals that are nearing the end of their lives.

But we can't do it alone. We need your support to make a real difference in the lives of these animals. By donating your time, resources, or financial support, you can help us provide the love and care that these animals desperately need.

We believe that together, we can create a world where all animals are treated with the love and respect they deserve. So please, consider joining us in our mission to promote animal welfare and create a more compassionate world.

As dawn breaks over the ancient, sun-kissed streets of Athens, a small, scrappy dog named Hara emerges from her makeshift shelter. Hara, whose name means 'joy' in Greek, is one of the over 600,000 stray animals who call the alleys and byways of Greece their home. Her day-to-day struggle is a testament to both her resilience and the dire circumstances faced by animals in this beautiful yet often harsh land.
In Greece, attitudes towards animals like Hara are complex and varied. While there are many compassionate individuals and rescuers working tirelessly to change perceptions, a significant portion of the population still views animals as nuisances, or worse, threats. This cultural backdrop, combined with myths about animal health and behavior, hampers efforts to improve conditions for strays.
One of the most pressing issues is the widespread opposition to neutering. Many believe it to be unnatural and harmful, leading to an ever-growing population of unwanted animals. Each day, thousands of puppies and kittens are born into uncertainty, many destined for a life on the streets.
The legal framework in Greece, surprisingly progressive in animal welfare, falls short in its enforcement. This gap in implementation means that, despite the laws in place, animals like Hara often fend for themselves, especially in the colder months when the tourist crowds dwindle and the tavernas, which once provided scraps, close their doors.
But there is hope amid these challenges. A network of small rescue organizations operates against all odds, fueled by passion and dedication. These groups receive no government funding, relying solely on donations and the goodwill of animal lovers. They are the unsung heroes in this narrative, providing care, shelter, and a chance at a better life for strays.
One such story is that of Nika, a once-emaciated dog found limping near a popular tourist spot. Thanks to the intervention of a local rescue group, Nika’s story turned from one of despair to one of hope. Now healthy and spirited, she awaits a forever home, symbolizing the potential for change and the power of compassion.
You can be part of this transformative journey. By adopting or fostering, you give animals like Hara and Nika a chance at a loving home. Sharing their stories raises awareness and changes perceptions, one person at a time. Donations, no matter how small, provide essential support for the rescue groups on the front lines.
Additionally, embracing innovative fundraising methods can make a significant difference. Purchasing digital art that supports these rescuers is a unique way to contribute. Not only do you get a piece of beautiful art, but your purchase becomes a lifeline for these animals.
Together, we can rewrite the story for Greece's stray animals. It starts with one act of kindness, one decision to make a difference. Be it through adoption, fostering, sharing, donating, or supporting through art, every action counts. Let’s give animals like Hara more than just survival – let's give them a chance at a life filled with joy and love.

Become a Patron: patreon.com/twilightaleshaven
Hi all,
In this post I would like to invite you all to become a Patron to enable me to rescue more dogs in Greece!
My funds have hit a record low, and I really need continuous support to be able to keep Prince's Place running.
I already had a massive financial burden with the new sanctuary built, dogs in my care, vet bills, fuel costs, my car needed repairs, and constant need of supplies to buy. Understandably, I am pretty worried about finances, as I dread to think one day I may have to close Prince's Place due to lack of funds. This would be my worst nightmare, and something I just cannot accept, whilst knowing so many animals are still abused and dumped in Greece. This is why I am appealing for you all to become a Patron, so that I can carry on rescuing, without the added stress of lack of funds.
You can become a Patron for as little as $7 a month! There are 5 different levels of Patrons to choose from, varying between $7 -$100.
Please consider becoming one to joinPrince's Place family, and to help me help more animals. 📷
(Please note the photos of the digital paintings are done by me ,and I will create a digital custom animal portrait for you! Finished products will be sent to you in the form of a PNG or JPG. Once received you can do whatever you would like with it and have complete ownership. Will look great printed and framed for a wall decoration, t-shirt, mug and much more!)
All monies received will go towards Prince's Place .

A Heartwarming Tale: Senior Dog Survives Winter Storm and Finds a Christmas Miracle.

The Discovery: A Senior Dog's Harrowing Ordeal
As snow and ice swept through the landscape, the senior dog found itself caught in the unforgiving storm. Clinging to life, the dog managed to curl up into a protective ball amidst the raging blizzard. It was in this vulnerable state that a compassionate passerby spotted the freezing canine and immediately reached out to a local animal shelter for help.

Shelter Staff to the Rescue: A Mission of Compassion and Dedication
The animal shelter's dedicated staff sprang into action, promptly rescuing the senior dog from its perilous situation. As they nursed the dog back to health, they made tireless efforts to locate its owner. Despite their best attempts, no one stepped forward to claim the abandoned animal. Undeterred, the shelter staff took matters into their own hands, providing the senior dog with a loving, forever home.

The Power of Kindness: A Lesson in Resilience and Compassion
This incredible story of survival and hope illustrates the unwavering determination of animals in the face of adversity. The senior dog's ability to endure harsh conditions and find solace in the compassion of strangers highlights the impact of kindness on the lives of animals. We hope this moving tale encourages others to extend their empathy towards animals and consider adopting a senior pet in need.

The Lasting Impact: Fostering a Culture of Care and Adoption
In conclusion, the heartwarming story of a senior dog's journey through a brutal winter storm to find a Christmas miracle serves as an inspiring reminder of the power of empathy and care. The animal shelter staff's commitment to the dog's well-being is a shining example of the difference a single act of kindness can make. We urge everyone to consider adopting a senior pet in need of a loving home and to always treat the animals in their communities with kindness and respect.

Hello there! My sanctuary is facing some urgent financial needs, and I am reaching out for help.

I have recently run out of food for my rescued Greekies, and I urgently need to purchase more. In addition, I have incurred medical expenses for some of the dogs who require special care. I want to ensure that they receive the best possible care, but I need your help to cover these costs.

I also faced unexpected expenses when I fell ill due to severe asthma. I had to pay someone to come and work at the sanctuary in my absence, which added to my financial burden.

That's why I am asking for your support. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a huge impact and help me continue my important work. With your help, I can provide the care and support that my animals need, and ensure that they have a safe and comfortable home.

Please consider making a donation today. Your contribution will make a real difference in the lives of the Greekies, and will help me to continue my mission of providing a safe haven for animals in need. Thank you for your support!

In addition to supporting my sanctuary through donations, I also have another way that you can help me out.

I started an Etsy shop where I sell various products and digital downloads, and all of the profits go towards supporting my dog sanctuary. I recently started and many more products are coming soon.

I truly appreciate your support, and I thank you for standing with me in my mission to create a better world for animals.
