HELP NEEDED!!

Hello Friends,

With sadness and heartbreak, we come to you today to inform you that despite our efforts of reaching out a raising awareness to our urgent dog population situation. We are forced to have an "AT RISK" group of dogs.

Our dog intake continues to soar and we have completely run out of kennel space. This has been the harsh reality we've faced over the last two years and our pleads for help may sound like a broken record. We are committed to being transparent with all of you so that if youfind yourself in a situation to open your home to a shelter dog, now may be the time. Or if you want to join us in networking these dogs to rescues and adopters.

Each of these dogs need our help and a place out of the shelter. Some are showing signs of kennel stress/ deterioration and are not thriving in the shelter environment. Despite the amazing care the animals receive from staff and volunteers, some animals just can't sustain in the kennel environment. These dogs are companions, family members, furbabies.... they are happiest in our homes on our couches or sleeping at our feet or in our beds..etc.. The shelter is no place for these pets long term. Please help us raise awareness to these dogs a join us in trying to save their lives.

We are actionable about reaching out to rescues, previous foster homes, finders and anyone connected to each of these dogs to try and find a postive solution.

Most all of these dogs came to us as strays and sadly where never reclaimed. If you know these dog or if you know who they belong to please reach out to us! We are not above tracking down previous guardians and knocking on doors trying to find a positive solutions for these lost dogs.

We intend to leave no stone unturned, however, we need people to adopt and rescue!

If you can't adopt or rescue one of these dogs, please consider one of our many other pets. We have so many to choose from!

Our at risk dogs are available to rescue organizatons or adopters through 6:00 pm 09/12/23. Please note if our capacity improves we will make every attempt to extend their time in efforts to find a positive outcome.

Our adoption center is open from 12-6 Monday-Friday; 12-5 Saturday and Sunday.

The other lucky🍀dogs have been Adopted/Rescued.

URGENT!!! AT RISK IF NO PLAN BY MONDAY 7/10!!! These dogs are at risk of at Santa Clara County Animal Shelter! They need your help to get the word out for foster or adopter homes or they will be euthanized. Please share!

Hope everyone’s staying safe and healthy! We’re still out practicing social distancing. So we know dogs can’t transmit this virus but it can settle on their fur or stick to their feet. Since we all love to pet and cuddle up with our fur-kids, here are a few tips:

Before entering the house after walks spray/wipe dogs feet with a safe antiseptic. If you don’t have one for pets specifically, alcohol or hydro peroxide works. But probably best to alternate or if you have dog booties, even better.

On walks in the neighborhood try to keep any part of them from touching any surfaces OR if you have a raincoat or sweater to minimize fur-surface contact, use those. Even more important now to not let them eat food off the sidewalk.

Between car rides spray disinfectant on car interior.

Hi everyone! Just letting you know, as the order stands now, I’ll still be taking out dogs on requested days. I’m keeping up with the situation daily, so of course things can change. And, in case you’re wondering, all other Mut Strut parents have already either been staying home from work since last week or since yesterday. I won’t be seeing some of your fur-kids until mid-April so please give them big long hugs from me, as I miss them already ❤️❤️❤️Stay safe, healthy, and enjoy your staycations!

The Mut Struts assistant, Jindo, made it through and is recovering from emergency stomach torsion surgery. 😊🙏🏾❤️ After talking to a friend taking his dog in for stomach surgery the following day, I would highly recommend the 24hr animal hospital, Oak Vet, in West Oakland though. Their Google reviews are also much better than other emergency vets in the area.
