elves, but want to keep them safe and protected from the harsh and brutal living conditions in war torn countries. In return, our soldiers want to protect them from harm. Although not every soldier is in a position to adopt their battle buddy once they return home, they go to great lengths to get their companions to our shelters to guarantee that these special animals aren't abused or killed once they depart. The Puppy Rescue Mission helps to find wonderful permanent homes and to raise the funds needed to get them to the USA. This is our way of thanking our military members for their service! Our troops and their soldiers are very relieved to know that their Battle Buddy gets the "happily ever after" they so rightly deserve. We have named this effort after Sasha, who bravely gave her life while protecting our troops from a su***de bomber on a military base in Afghanistan. Along with Target and Rufus, they helped to save the lives of 50 soldiers. In honor of Sasha who sacrificed her life that day in order to save those whom she loved, we have established Sasha's Legacy to ensure that the strays of Afghanistan and other war torn countries are protected in return. COURTESY POST FOR A SMALL MAINE RESCUE THAT TOOK IN A PUP FROM AFGHANISTAN‼️
Speen is a 15 month old neutered , male lab mix, who weighs 50 lbs . He is dog friendly with other similarly sized, playful dogs but is not good with smaller dogs or cats. He can be in a home with kids. He is housebroken. He can climb a fence under 6 feet, so would be fine in a home where he gets leash walks. He would prefer to be in a home with someone who does not work long hours as he is not very fond of the crate. He does love people, is cuddly playful and extremely laid back. Only once an application is approved will a meet and greet with all human and canine family members be arranged. He is currently fostered in Virginia.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER NEEDED‼️
Alpine came over from Romania in June of 2023. He is currently about 4 and weighs 60 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
Alpine had a rough start in America. Shortly after he arrived he tore his ACL. No need to worry though, he had surgery and is good as new! He is missing a hip joint though and is having no issues at the moment.
He loves squeaky toys, going for long walks and basking in the sun. A fenced yard would be beneficial to allow him more time to sunbathe!
Why is this cutie needing a new home……he is not getting along with the other dog in the home. He may do better with a more submissive dog. He loves to play, but when he is done, he’s done.
He can also be protective of his person.
Alpine loves people. He has not been exposed to children. Cats are also unknown.
Alpine is located in Watertown, NY. Transport can be arranged to the perfect home.

Lilly is about 3 years old. She was born in Feb 2021. She is a gorgeous girl and weighs around 55 lbs.
Lilly is GREAT with people, she especially LOVES children. She gets along great with cats and one of her “best buddies” is a bull who she loves to play with and herd! She is crate trained.
Other dogs make her nervous but she has lived with another dog and they feel she would do fine with proper introduction especially male dogs!
Lilly loves to run and play and would do well with a fenced yard. She is looking for a new home due to no fault of her own. She is very much loved and is sadly the result of lack of housing and a divorce.

This momma dog in Romania just had her adopter cancel. We are so upset for Ella the White Momma dog to the puppies that soldiers are adopting. I just do not get it. She is small. She deserves the best family. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, about 20 lbs, shy, and oh so cute. PLEASE share her with anyone that you think would be a good home for her. She will be slow to adjust as she has lived her entire life on a base in Romania searching for food and probably having to protect her babies and herself from large stray dogs.

Jameela and Jasmine are sisters who were born near a base in Iraq. They have been cared for since birth by our US service members.
They are approx 9 months old. They are the sweetest, calmest and friendliest girls ever! They crave attention and LOVE to cuddle and adore humans and we believe do fine with children based on their demeanor. They get along well with other dogs, no exposure to cats but we think they'd be fine.

Our gorgeous Momma Dixie is looking for her happily ever after at no fault of her own. Sadly her family fell upon some unexpected health issues that will require a lot of traveling and will not allow them to be there for Dixie who arrived recently in America.
While her soldier adores her he is making the tough decision to ask us to find her a home that can love her and give her the best possible life.
She is about 5 years old and is shy at first but is blossoming and learning to trust humans every day. She is loving and sweet. Fine with other dogs and cats. He lived with another pup and does well with dogs once introduced slowly. He has not had any recent exposure to cats.

Our sweet Foxy Fox is still looking for her happily ever after. A home better suited for her quiet and shy personality without kids. Foxy is over a year old and prefers to have a home with one or two humans as it takes her a while to warm up. She is great with other dogs and loves to play. She enjoys walks and does well with her gentle leader head halter. She loves morning cuddles, pup cups and cheese. She is crate trained, potty trained and is learning some nose work games. She is about 25 pounds and up to date on shots.

K-Pack pupdate Part 2 Cooper(Bubba) and Karma(Moxica) are two of the seven pups in Afghanistan who were left orphaned when their mother was shot. They were adopted in and cared for by our service members who stated that having these pups on base lifted their spirits taking their minds off the warzone around them. Today, Cooper (Bubba) lives in New Hampshire with his family and fur siblings. His mom stated he is the "goofiest, happiest boy ever", and even fighting cancer and the loss of a leg couldn't keep this boy down! Guarding the yard from squirrels, walks, snuggles and belly rubs are only a few of his favorite things. His mom stated she could write a novel on Cooper and his antics. She simply could not imagine life without him. Meanwhile, Karma (Moxica) is living the life eating grilled steak with her parents as she is not a fan of dog food. After being adopted she had to work thru a few quirks but now is very active and enjoying the outdoors with hikes and snowshoeing topping the list. Karma's mom stated she is "very protective of her people and her property." Both Karma and Cooper are happy dogs living a happy life. It is so wonderful to see these pups living a life that would never have been possible without the quick action of our service members, Puppy Rescue Mission or Sasha's Legacy and our many amazing adopters!
K-Pack of Afghanistan
In 2014, Puppy Rescue Mission was contacted about seven puppies in Afghanistan whose mother had been shot, leaving these puppies orphaned with no hope of survival. Soldiers took the pups in, fed them and nursed them back to health. Some were adopted by the Soldiers while Sasha's Legacy found wonderful homes for the rest ringing true their motto, "leave no puppy behind." The puppies became know as the K-pack pups of Afghanistan. We caught up with Freckles and Patches for our pupdate this week. Unfortunately, Patches crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. She had a wonderful life with her mom who said she was, "rambunctious as a puppy and as an adult, full of curiosity and loved children. Freckles lives in the California bay area, loves car rides and ducks at the park. She loves her 4 fur brothers and sisters. Her only difficulty has been the high prey drive, especially with squirrels. Her mom said, "We love her to the moon and back and would never change a thing about her." They are hoping to relocate soon to a home with more acreage so Freckles and adopted siblings will have lots of room to roam. More K-Pack pupdates to come!

About Sasha’s Legacy
In most cases, when our military bonds with a stray dog while at war, Puppy Rescue Mission helps them adopt the animal and bring it home to a a life a dog deserves. Sometimes though, the service member is not is a position to adopt...that's why Puppy Rescue Mission formed Sasha's Legacy. We help those service members that because of military, family, or other obligations, can't give their best friend a home, but can't bear the thought of leaving them behind or releasing them onto the streets. Our service members see the horrible abuse of dogs and cats that back home they would consider loving family members. Imagine the relief and peace they feel when they can actually ensure the animal they want to help gets to live with an amazing family & be spoiled for life.
