ADOPTION PENDING!!
Lulu needs you....are you her person? Please share 🙏
It’s National Rescue Dog Day!
If you’re missing out on a great catch, adoptable Turk wants to remind you to circle back around and continue sharing his posts! Just as he’s mastered catching the frisbee, he knows he can accomplish the coveted title of “adopted!”
Turk is a great dog but needs a special person/family who can take it slow with him as he gets overwhelmed quickly. But more than anything Turk wants a family of his own. He is in Delaware and we ask for adopters local enough to go meet him.
Email us at [email protected] and we'll tell you all about him!
K-Pack pupdate Part 2
Cooper(Bubba) and Karma(Moxica) are two of the seven pups in Afghanistan who were left orphaned when their mother was shot. They were adopted in and cared for by our service members who stated that having these pups on base lifted their spirits taking their minds off the warzone around them.
Today, Cooper (Bubba) lives in New Hampshire with his family and fur siblings. His mom stated he is the "goofiest, happiest boy ever", and even fighting cancer and the loss of a leg couldn't keep this boy down! Guarding the yard from squirrels, walks, snuggles and belly rubs are only a few of his favorite things. His mom stated she could write a novel on Cooper and his antics. She simply could not imagine life without him.
Meanwhile, Karma (Moxica) is living the life eating grilled steak with her parents as she is not a fan of dog food. After being adopted she had to work thru a few quirks but now is very active and enjoying the outdoors with hikes and snowshoeing topping the list. Karma's mom stated she is "very protective of her people and her property." Both Karma and Cooper are happy dogs living a happy life.
It is so wonderful to see these pups living a life that would never have been possible without the quick action of our service members, Puppy Rescue Mission or Sasha's Legacy and our many amazing adopters!
K-Pack of Afghanistan
In 2014, Puppy Rescue Mission was contacted about seven puppies in Afghanistan whose mother had been shot, leaving these puppies orphaned with no hope of survival. Soldiers took the pups in, fed them and nursed them back to health. Some were adopted by the Soldiers while Sasha's Legacy found wonderful homes for the rest ringing true their motto, "leave no puppy behind."
The puppies became know as the K-pack pups of Afghanistan. We caught up with Freckles and Patches for our pupdate this week. Unfortunately, Patches crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago. She had a wonderful life with her mom who said she was, "rambunctious as a puppy and as an adult, full of curiosity and loved children.
Freckles lives in the California bay area, loves car rides and ducks at the park. She loves her 4 fur brothers and sisters. Her only difficulty has been the high prey drive, especially with squirrels. Her mom said, "We love her to the moon and back and would never change a thing about her." They are hoping to relocate soon to a home with more acreage so Freckles and adopted siblings will have lots of room to roam.
More K-Pack pupdates to come!
Our "Pupdate" this week is featuring Pumpkin of Afghanistan.
January, 2012 the Civil Affairs team worked out of the Zahray District Center where Pumpkin first came on the scene accompanied by a few of the local Afghan National Army soldiers. The team tried not to become too attached to this young pup, but she quickly became known as the "Americans" dog which was not a label that would do her any favors. They ended up keeping her in a small area in the district center for her safety after "disappearing" twice. Pumpkin inevitably become an important part of the team and they knew that they had to get her out or she would not survive. The determined Team Leader researched and found Puppy Rescue Mission, her only hope, and thankfully made it to her "furever" home in February of 2013. Initially, she had some issues adjusting to life in Oregon with her new siblings but, with patience (and lot's of treats) she settled into her new home. Now, 8 years later, Pumpkin is living her best life! She loves to go for rides in the truck, for walks with her fur brothers, Buddy and Macy, running around through the woods, chasing squirrels and just hanging out in the yard. She still has her "quirks" at times but a brief "time-out" will restore the balance of life again. Her owners stated they are looking forward to many more years of having her just being her !!
Loki
Oh, hey look, it's Loki again!
We are just going to flood your newsfeed with pictures and video of this handsome Kuwaiti until someone adopts him 😉
Loki is 3 yrs old and originally from Kuwait. He came to the states with his mom and siblings as a wee pup and has had a stroke of bad luck in finding his happily ever after ever since.
Loki can live with a submissive, playful pup like his foster sister here but we ask no cats or small children please. He will also need a human who will walk his 100lb butt to shed some of those extra pounds!
Loki is a great dog and will need an experienced human to let him know who makes the rules of the house but also can give in to some couch snuggles at the end of the day.
Located in Washington State, he can be transported anywhere within a days drive. Inquiries can be sent to [email protected]
Joey being sprung from boarding 12/19/19 (Thank you Kelly!!)
Joey has arrived in the US from Qatar and has headed to foster. We are so grateful to 2 people-- one for springing him from boarding today so he can sleep in a loving home tonight, and the other for opening her home to him until we find him a home. He is so deserving. Joey is 6 years old and his military family is relocating and could not take him with them to their next station. He is a happy guy--loves people, kids, cats and dogs, is neutered, up to date, and looking for his happily ever after. Email us at [email protected] to apply or more info...and stay tuned for updates on Joey! <3
Ghillie LOVES a good game of keep away! We are still searching for a home for this goofball! Ghillie is an older boy but as you can see, he still has lots of life left in him to run and play! Ghillie would prefer older kids and maybe a female pup as a playmate. This guy is crate trained and housebroken and enjoys lounging on the couch. Currently located in VA, we can transport to the right home. Please email us at [email protected] for more info and the application! #PRM #puppyrescuemission #puppiessavingsoldiers #soldierssavingpuppies
This sweet girl has been pulled from the shelter in Harker Heights, Texas. We are looking for a perfect family for her. She is blind and does have a few medical issues that will be shared once we get her to the Vet on Saturday. The people in this community have been bringing treats and items for her. We have named her Goldie and please email [email protected] if this doggy is the perfect fit for your family.
Please help us get her vetting and other costs covered so we can help her enjoy the rest of her life in comfort. She is so worth it!
