It’s certainly been an adrenaline fuelled afternoon for me, but completely worth it, as I’m now not having to force feed formula into a couple of two-three week old kittens 😀

Six new arrivals this morning, I suspect I’ve got a mixed litter here, two are weighing in at 2.5weeks of age, the other four are around 4 weeks of age.

I took Champion to the vet this afternoon, he has a very painful, infected ulcer covering both of his scrotums - OUCH 😣😞

His twice daily bum baths for his chronic diarrhoea weren’t enough to prevent his urine and waste matter from burning and damaging his delicate skin.

Champion has had a Brazilian shave, the wound has been flushed out and he has started a course of antibiotics to treat the infection.

The wound will be re-checked on Friday.

Jen is seeking her forever home, she is a beautifully balanced tabby/tortie, I believe the correct terminology is torbie 🤔

Jen is a little shy of strangers, but she comes out of her shell relatively quickly when string toy play is initiated by humans. Jen gets startled by loud noises and she would prefer to come to you, rather than you approaching her.

Jen is comfortable with other cats and she would be okay to be homed with respectful young children.

Minnie and Maisie are not biological sisters, however they are extremely bonded to each other.

Minnie on the left, was born in care, she struggled to gain weight right from birth. Her two biological siblings were adopted, together, two weeks ago.

Maisie, came into our care 3 weeks ago. I welcomed her mother too, who was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and returned her family last Sunday.

Minnie and Maisie bonded with each other, almost instantly. They are inseparable now, so they must be adopted as a pair.

Minnie is 13 weeks of age and Maisie is 10 weeks of age. Both are spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date with flea and worm treatments.

This is a very difficult post for me to write, please be kind 🙏

The lab results are in, 24 cats and kittens have been infected with Campylobacter 😞

Every week, I have been very kindly donated a box of short dated, frozen Jimbos. I have been extremely grateful to receive this as it makes feeding all the rescue cats/kittens so much more affordable for me and the felines have all loved having a serving of raw meat, along side their regular food.

I highly suspect that early last week, I unknowingly defrosted and served a tub of spoiled meat. It is possible the meat had gone off, before it was snap frozen OR it had defrosted somewhat before it went into my own freezer.

I am sure that you can all imagine how I am feeling right now, being the hand that ultimately fed the sanctuary cats the contaminated meat, which resulted in two felines losing their lives and countless others being chronically unwell 😞

As a precaution I will no longer be accepting donations of short dated meat, fresh or frozen. Or any donations of opened dry cat food.

Thank you to everyone who donated towards the costs involved in finding out what caused so many felines to become unwell, had we not done this testing, I’d still be feeding them potentially contaminated meat!

I’ve decided to name this wee boy, Champion. Thank you for all the wonderful name suggestions.

Champion is hanging in there, he ate a wee bit by himself today.

His temperature is normal so he’s out of the incubator 🙌🏼

Good morning, we are definitely not out of the woods yet….but this family has had NO diarrhoea overnight!!!!

The kittens have also gained a tiny bit of weight 🙌🏼

Thank you ALL for your kind words, encouragement, well wishes and financial support at this very difficult time. I feel very humbled in knowing that the lives I’m desperately trying to save…matter to YOU too. My collection of stool samples have gone off for testing this afternoon. Results should be back, in a few days time. No lives have been cruelly taken by this illness over the last 24 hours, however, all sick kittens are continuing to lose weight at an alarming rate. This handsome chap, was on his way out, this time yesterday, he’s been fighting super hard to live, I’m certainly surprised he’s still with us. Please help me to honour his fight by giving him a name

Our family of ‘Hiss’ are all settling in well. They don’t swear at me as much as they did earlier in the week.

I didn’t think the cone would stay on very long
