Cleopatra and the kids are finally flea free, their conjunctivitis is resolving with the help of eye ointment and Big Jas is happy that there is no other cat currently residing up on his favourite shelf.

Great day at the Kingdom today!!

I had to cancel Lucinda’s spay appointment this week after she stole a packet of temptations out the cupboard, she ate so many she got the runs and made herself sick 🤦🏼‍♀️

She’s still feeling a bit poorly.

Cheeky had a recheck at the vet today, his kidney function has slightly improved. We now suspect that at some point he has eaten something toxic which caused significant injury/inflammation to his kidneys.

His eyes are looking a lot better too, he will never completely re-gain his sight but he does have some vision.

The plan for Cheeky is to have his bloodwork run again next week, if his kidney function is still improving then he will head off to his forever home with the family who found him, next weekend.

A BIG thank you to everyone who has donated towards this little man’s care.

Poor Cleopatra I don’t blame her wanting as many breaks as she can possibly get from the kids! The poor girl has either been pregnant or nursing pretty much her entire life 😞

Big Jas, HATES other cats!! His access around our other guests is ALWAYS supervised. Jas is a bully 😆

Jas’s response to Cheeky is interesting to watch. Cheeky can’t SEE Jason, so he often accidentally walks into him, an approach Jas has possibly never encountered before.

This little boy is called Cheeky and he needs a bit of financial help.

Cheeky is approximately 5 months of age, he is blind. We suspect his blindness could be the result of untreated cat flu.

Cheeky came into care looking as if he had been professionally shaven around his hindquarters, we now suspect the reason for his lack of fur is due to extensive over grooming (photo in comments).

Cheeky was neutered today and at the same time his bloodwork was run. Cheeky has elevated levels of creatinine and urea nitrogen (BUN) which could be an indication of kidney disease. Cheeky’s white blood cell count is high, which is an indication of infection.

Cheeky’s care plan includes steroid eye drops, antibiotics, anti-inflammatorys and regular vet visits to get to the bottom of his vast array of issues.

Cheeky is VERY fortunate that the people who found him will be adopting him regardless of his health issues and the fact he will need to live out the rest of his life exclusively indoors! How lucky is he?!?!

Donations directly to our amazing vet team would be greatly appreciated (Please use TAPP561 as the reference).

Please give a BIG welcome to this gorgeous family of five.

This Queen and her kittens were being given away on Facebook last night. I am so pleased the owner agreed to surrender them to me as the kittens are only 3 weeks of age, way too young to be separated from their mother.

This family is a direct result of someone getting two free kittens last year, a male and a female (siblings) and not getting them desexed.

I have made arrangements to get their existing male cat neutered and microchipped.
