My dog ate a door… and it wasn’t because he was bad ⬇️
When I adopted Mylo, I thought I was getting a loyal, goofy sidekick- and I did. But I also brought home a dog with deep, invisible wounds who couldn't be left alone without going full destruction mode.
I tried crate training but he did more self harm than anything.
Leaving him loose? He’d tear down curtains, have accidents, and claw the wall beside the door. A scented sweater, dog calming treats, music- you name it.
Then I tried leaving him in my empty guest room while at work…
The dog walker showed up… to no door 🚪
Mylo had chewed through the entire thing. Not out of mischief, but out of sheer panic. He wasn’t being “bad”, he was traumatized and just wanted to feel safe.
Dog anxiety is REAL and far more common than people think, especially in rescues.
Signs include:
🐾 Destructive behaviour
🐾 Pacing, drooling, accidents
🐾 Escape attempts
🐾 Crying, shaking, howling
Rescue dogs often carry trauma. They’re not “cheap alternatives.” They’re healing souls.
What helped Mylo wasn’t discipline, it was understanding.
✅ Building trust
✅ Creating structure
✅ Patience (a lot of it)
✅ Finding tools that gave me peace of mind too
💛 A portion of every PetRoam purchase is donated to the SPCA.
Because these dogs don’t just need collars…
They need someone to believe in them.
That’s why PetRoam exists , not just to sell collars, but to protect these dogs in every sense. My AirTag collars are designed to keep them safe physically, and with every purchase, I give back to the SPCA to help dogs find homes where they’re safe emotionally too.
If you’ve got a Mylo, or a Nova, or a four-legged tornado of anxiety and love, you’re not alone.
🖤 PetRoam is for them.
📍 AirTag collars built for escape artists, adventurers, and anxious hearts.
🐾 And every purchase gives back to the rescue world that gave me my best friends.
Thank you for being part of their second chance 🐕✨
