Hi forever family, my name is Ellie.
I’m looking for my forever home. I’m 6 yrs old so you don’t need to worry about the puppy stage w/me as I’m a perfect angel. I don’t tear up my beds or toys like puppies do and I’m house trained and kennel trained. I can even be left out in the house unsupervised like a good girl. My ideal home would be one w/a fenced in yard so I can play fetch and hang out with my family. I get along great w/other dogs once proper introductions are done. But I still get a little jealous of other females so I would prefer a home with no dogs or just boys. No little dogs or cats!!! I would prefer an athletic family because I like to eat but also want to keep my perfect figure. I’m not hyperactive. If I don’t get exercise (if my family isn’t feeling well) I’m happy to snuggle up w/them till they feel better. I come when called, I know commands like here, stay, kennel up, place, heel and leave it. My foster mom has been working with me a lot but my new family will need to commit to my continued training so I can stay on the right track. I am e-collar trained and would prefer a human that is also familiar because it helps with my leash training and ignoring other dogs that aren’t very polite on leashes. I’m really good until they react to my people. I used to get reactive but w/command ‘leave it’ with a beep beep…I remember my manners and continue my walk. My foster mom says I smile when I get recalled showing off all my pretty teeth like a happy girl. I’m so excited to find my forever home, will it be with you?

Bentley is and active 5 ½ yrs old that needs to lose some weight.

Treat motivated as you can see, good with all dogs (use to have a Rat Terrier brother and played with 4 German Shepherds). He walks well with harness and leash. His previous owner was in a wheelchair. Not happy being in a crate.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at TWR!

As we head into Thanksgiving week we would like to thank all of our foster families, adopters, volunteers, donors and pretty much everyone that helps to share our posts to get the message out there that ALL rescues are struggling with so many dogs in need. We all know it always seems to get worse around the holidays with more dogs coming in and less fosters available and overall less interest in adoptions due to other obligations and travel .

This girl right here is a great example of how our TWR family pulled together to help this “Lady” out. We posted an urgent plea for help with pulling her from animal control and we had many people reach out to see how they could help ( you are all amazing!!) We arranged for her to be picked up by wonderful family that stepped up to the task despite it being a significant drive. They got her to a vet that same day and unfortunately we received the devasting news that she is terminally ill with cancer. What started as a short term foster prior to Thanksgiving turned into a fospice situation with vet saying “maybe a month”.

The photos don’t lie-from the sad dog at AC to a bath, warm snuggly bed and of course the adorable warm winter hat! This is a dog that will be LOVED and CARED for until we have to say goodbye, even if it’s only few short weeks.

Thank you to her special foster parents and thank to you all for supporting TWR and what we do for these special dogs .
