Our saskatoons are just loaded down with fruit and we need your help to ease the load on the branches. Come on out and pick some. Also, we finally have our restroom upgraded and we are even getting compliments on how nice they are. Stroller accessible, and one even has a change table for the little ones. A definite step up.

It's time to fill the buckets with saskatoons and we are opening this Saturday morning! The picking likely will be a little slower, but the berries are big and juicy. And just a heads up for you, but with the inflation we have had we now have a $1 deposit for our upick pails. Hope to see you soon.

I realized I had forgotten to share this t shirt my kids gave me for Father's Day. I think it's great. I also just checked the saskatoons and they have not ripened near as fast this week as I thought they would. We may have ripe ones by next Saturday, but likely not a lot. We will have to see how next week goes.

Just realized I hadn't updated the status of our fruit yet this summer. We are still several weeks away from having ripe saskatoons, but the crop is looking good. We do have lots of rhubarb though if you are wanting that delicious tart bite of fruit.

I should have taken this picture yesterday while it was working in the field behind it, but this piece of equipment is older than me, using technology that is likely from the early 1900's, utilizing ancient wisdom and combined they are a revolutionary concept. The common practice is to grow 1 maybe 3 varieties in a planting, but monoculture is nowhere in nature. We have planted oats, barley, wheat, triticale, peas, ryegrass, hairy vetch, radish, turnips, sunflowers and clover. Some are planted to feed our livestock, and others are planted for their ability to absorb nutrients from the air, and others for their ability to feed the soil. It is cool to learn more about how everything is designed to work together.

Hi Calgary and Cochrane food lovers. We are switching to our summer drop off schedule and we will be in Cochrane this THURSDAY evening from 5:30-6:30 and NW Calgary at 7:00-7:30. The selection in our freezers is starting to get smaller, so hurry and order the delicious food you want before they are sold out. Do you know what kind of blossom this is?

We don't talk a lot about our haskaps, as their season finishes before typical berry season, and our local bird population generally beats us to eating them.

However, they certainly add a different kind of blossom to admire, and upon writing this post, I'm now craving their sweet-but-tart flavour. Hopefully the birds leave us a few this year.

When you think of spring, do you think of these little fluffballs?

We do!

One of the coolest parts of raising our animals is nurturing their cutest versions of themselves.

These little chicks come to our farm fresh after they hatch from our trusted hatchery, allowing us to curate their environment necessary to guarantee the freshest, tastiest eggs and meat we can!

Did you know the donkeys on our farm are also called "Jerusalem Donkeys?"

Their fluffy coats carry the design of a cross--a feature we now link historically to when a donkey carried Jesus Christ into Jerusalem (the city in which he'd be crucified on a cross) nearly 2000 years ago.

As we celebrated Easter with all its traditions this past weekend, we thought it'd be fun to share this little fun fact (and share an adorable baby donkey photo from last year 😍)

We hope you had a lovely weekend!
