Apparently today is so it’s about time I introduced new girl gorgeous Roxy! Roxy joined my Pet Treks family just after New Year and what an absolute joy she’s been! At 15 months and due to circumstances, we didn’t have my usual soft start but I needn’t have worried, it’s as if she’d been with me for months! Van ✅ Other dogs ✅ Recall ✅ and in true Golden Retriever fashion she loves a plunge pool! She’s a credit to her owners as they’ve trained her beautifully and her exuberance just makes my smile 😊

We currently have 7 beautiful puppies in foster. (More details will follow!) As they can't yet be socialised we are in need of enrichment toys for them. The absolute worst thing of being in business for 16 years is the gradual loss of many dogs as they very sadly reach the end of their life. I was utterly heartbroken to hear that wee Barney (Barney rubble was my pet name for him) had passed away peacefully on Friday. I had my last walk with him on Tuesday and I commented he was very slow, it was just his time. I started walking Barney in November 2012 and he always brought a smile to my face. His howls of joy when I picked him up, his grumps at dogs he didn’t tolerate and his sheer joy walking with his favourite friends. Laterally I think he was just as content to be up front in the van and he always tried to be as close to me as possible! I know his doting family will be devastated at his loss but I can’t thank them enough for allowing me to be part of his life right to the end. Rest easy Barney, I’ll miss you

Well this week was fun! Feel like I’ve been at the gym every day but it was a good distraction for my first week back and hopefully I’ve burned off a few festive calories 🥴! Snow is my absolute favourite weather and I love seeing the dogs so happy! I’ll take this winter weather any week!

Happy 2025 to all my clients, furry friends and hairless ones too! As you can see I had a bouncing Hogmanay! My NY resolution is to start deleting the almost 5000 videos and photos on my phone (almost all dogs) and be better on social media 🥴. Here’s to a happy and healthy New Year and thank you all for letting your dogs be part of my life! Tracy x

Well that’s me done and my last walk of 2024 was completed in 15°! Once again I’ve been utterly spoiled by my amazing clients and if the truth be told, I’d probably walk their dogs for free (if I didn’t have bills to pay 🥴) Have a restful and relaxing festive period and thank you all for trusting me with your wonderful dogs! Dogs definitely recognise their own breed! Here’s Bosie and Baxter who often hang out together and enjoy a munch on the long grass (quite normal past time for some dogs) They do also enjoy a game of chase but that’s harder to photograph!

STILL MISSING! I don’t know the owner or this dog but it’s my area and so traumatic not knowing what’s happened to Hetty! A drone has found nothing and our next option is a trained tracker dog so if anyone knows of any please get in touch urgently

Posting on behalf of owner. Hetty has been missing since lunchtime today. She went into thickets at Lochton of Leys on the path beside the old ruin. She’s an older lady with a respiratory problem and makes a noise when breathing. She was wearing an orange harness. Please share and if you’re walking near or around the Lochton area and your dogs show any kind of interest in the thicket areas, please stop and have a look! Be careful around the reed beds as the loch edge can be invisible!
