Adoptable Luna is looking for a family who can give her lots (lots!) of opportunities for exercise and interactive play.

She’s a country girl, the sights and sounds of a city may be too much for her. She loves getting her zoomies on with her foster sisters in their big, fenced yard and also really enjoys long walks and hikes. She’s a true athlete.

Luna is house and crate trained, though she’d prefer someone who is home a lot so she can stay engaged. She loves all people and seems to love all dogs.

Another sweet update! Brenn (fka Tyra from Louisiana) just celebrated one year in her forever home. We are sad to hear that Brenn lost her big brother, but happy to learn she has embraced being a big sister!

Her Family tells us: "The year has flown by! Brenn has grown into a smart and confident dog. She loves cuddles, hiking, fetch and her new little sister. When we adopted her we had another dog but unfortunately he got lymphoma and we lost him a few months ago. We learned of another puppy that needed a home and knew Brenn would a terrific big sister. She is the sweetest ball of energy and we love her tons!"

We got this super sweet update on Phoebe (fka Honey, from Louisiana), who has been in her forever home since September. We were all simply smitten with this little cutie and aren't surprised that her fan club continues to grow!

Her family tells us: We wanted to take a minute to be thankful around this holiday and give a little update on Phoebe (Honey). We are so lucky to have her in our family--so thank you to all of you involved in caring for her and getting her up to Maine. She is settling in quite nicely, and is just the BEST buddy. We are about to start obedience classes and she's made lots of canine friends. Phoebe charms everyone she meets and is getting more confident every day. We've been to the beach, the lake, hiking, and lots of walks. (2 miles in the AM & the PM!!). It snowed at our in-laws on Thanksgiving, and turns out she is a very intrepid pup. She loved it! Happy holidays, and thank you for all that you do!!

Daisy Mae is all ready for Christmas! She is also ready for a home for Christmas!

Daisy Mae is a very sweet, happy, all-around wonderful dog! She is estimated to be around 10 months old and is a nice size at 45lbs. Daisy Mae LOVES other dogs, is great on leash, and excellent riding in the car. She is house and crate trained. She is great with kids but can be a little bouncy as she is still puppy-like, so older kids would be a better fit for her. We don’t know how she would do with cats.

Daisy has a deformed jaw, which gives her a crooked snout that affects her right eye. Because of this, she does have limited vision in this eye. She has been seen locally by both a dental specialist and an ophthalmologist and both determined that this misalignment does not need any medical intervention.

Available Lisaki came to us from Greece and has been described in one word by her foster mom as "irresistible".

Lisaki is a small mixed breed dog (there's some Jack Russell in there!) who weighs less than 20bs and is about 9 months old. She likes a lot of activity and doesn't like to be left alone a lot. She's figuring out if she likes other dogs or not (there's some Jack Russell in there!). For potential adopters with other dogs, it will be all about the right "fit". Lisaki has been known to chase her foster cats for play, and has a blast doing it. Dog-savvy cats who don't mind a good game of chase should be just fine for her. She lived with kids (ages 7 and 11) in Greece, and loved them. She may be a little too jumpy for little kiddos though. Lisaki is super smart and has picked up her basic manners quickly. She is great on leash walks, house and crate trained, and a huge fan of toys!

Little Turkey George has a brother, Fred, who is also available. And Fred, well he is just the most adorable crinkly, wrinkly little dude ever!

Fred is a super playful, happy pup who loves to be around other dogs. He's also working on hanging out with cats. Fred loves to be around his people. He is vocal, sweet, and loving and is happiest hanging out where ever you are. He has an adorable way of looking at you with his big sweet eyes that will melt your heart.

Daisy Mae is a very sweet, happy, all-around wonderful floofy dog! She is estimated to be around 10 months old and is a nice size at 45lbs. Just when you thought you had seen enough turkey - THIS guy comes along!

This little Turkey is George, a young, mixed breed pup who is estimated to be about 3 months old. He's a super happy, playful, and silly puppy who loves to play with other dogs, he's even learning all about cats! George is a confident boy, who is quiet and calm. George is happy to be social, but also content entertaining himself with toys.

Teddy, who came to us from Mississippi, has been in his forever home for six months. Oh my goodness, what a cutie!

We got this sweet update from his family: "Teddy is doing amazing in our home! He is the perfect fit to our little family! He loves to go exploring in the woods, chew on a good bone or go whenever his mom and boy go. Teddy is the biggest love and loves to end his day with a good snuggle. He goes to daycare two days a week where he can play with all his puppy friends and is getting ready to start his advanced dog training class. Thank you so much for helping us find the absolute best dog! We love his so much and love giving him the best life."

Almost Home Rescue of New England is an all-breed canine rescue group located in Maine and New Hampshire. We are 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs.

Most of AHR’s dogs have come from overcrowded shelters in Arkansas and most recently Mississippi; however, we also take dogs from local shelters, veterinarians, and other situations that require rescue. All of our imported dogs arrive with a current Health Certificate, meet Maine and New Hampshire state import and vaccination requirements, are wormed, micro-chipped, and transported on an U.S.D.A. approved transport. We are an all volunteer run organization. All the dogs listed are either still waiting in Arkansas, Tennessee, or Mississippi Shelters, or they are in New England Foster Homes waiting to be adopted
