A little video compilation of The OG Aqueduct Cats (Rosie, Hazel, Pecan, Walnut & Keegan) and our Petunia.
BACKSTORY: Petunia aka Toonie lost her sissy, Willow, to lymphoma on November 21, 2021 and her other sissy, Buttercup, to lymphoma on December 3, 2022. I began the Aqueduct project late November 2022. At first, Petunia was so shut down, she didn't care much about her new friends. After several months, it seemed as though, she was, at least, entertained by them. Now, she likes Pecan and hangs with everyone!
❤️In my heart, I believe Willow sent Rosie to us, knowing Buttercup would be by her side soon. Rosie was only with us a few days when we lost Buttercup. Later that month, our Mimi would pass. She crossed Rainbow Bridge very early Christmas Eve. Much later that night, just before midnight, I would trap Hazel. I believe my angel kitties nudged Hazel... told her that her boys and Rosie were safe with a family that needed some kitty love.
This crew has brought some much needed light and love to my Mom's home. Never intended on all of them staying but they are family.

Thanks to some very generous donors, I was able to buy the @clawsablepet shelter I really wanted!
I piggybacked it to the original shelter. Both are staked into the ground. Both are insulated with mylar. I cannot heat them because of the remote location but they will provide excellent shelter from the weather and will reflect heat from the kitties.
Still have to set up the cams and secure spay/neuter appointments and a place to recover since my cage is currently occupied by Anakin. He is still recovering. Improving but not coming around as I had hoped. I didn't want to release him back to his hood but I may have to come Spring. I am hoping to speak to residents there to see if I can secure some caretakers.

I sat down to have a quick bite to eat and my little Oscar climbed into my lap for some comfort. He is my velcro kitty.
There was only one velcro kitty in my life many years ago, a kitty born with a vsd, a kitty not expected to see his first birthday, a kitty who beat the odds, underwent groundbreaking surgery and lived for nearly 8 years...he was Spikealicious.
The anniversary of his passing is soon approaching. I may do a memorial post in his honor. Memories of him still bring tears to my eyes. My heart still aches for him.
Little Oscar reminds me of him in some ways. Spike often rode my left shoulder; would wrap around my neck and always wanted to be near me...touching me. We were connected in ways I never dreamed possible. He was the kitty who recognized my healing abilities. He started me on my path.
I think our pets all come from one oversoul because they each share some pretty unique traits and energy. Oscar rides my left shoulder; wraps himself around me neck and is always looking to attach to me.

I set up the @clawsablepet shelter and there was evidence that they did indeed use it.
For now, I will continue feeding in the wooden cat house since they are coming to eat there regularly. Ideally, I would like to get a second shelter, one with compartments, so they can eat in a warm dry space. The wooden house, despite having hay, is damp and cold. It is deteriorating as well.
These three kitties are definitely related to all the aqueduct kitties I have trapped, vetted and spayed/neutered over the past few years. I cannot seem to get ahead of this. I have to get these three! They are scavenging just 2 blocks from the original feeding site.
The first feeding site has since been abandoned but I decided to leave the shelter and feeding hut there regardless.
Once again, I have outdoor kitties who need help. Despite not having funds to do so, I have to find a way.

Here I go again...
Rescue never stops.
I saw a small black kitty the other night about the size of Hazel. He/she is probably related to Hazel, Pecan, Walnut, Rosie, Keegan and the other neighborhood rescues from the past few years.
I just received notification that the Clawsable shelter I purchased has shipped. So, at least, I can provide this kitty with a safe, sturdy and warm shelter while gaining his/her trust; learning his/her schedule and ultimately trapping and vetting him/her.
I am accumulating more debt due to all the recent rescues, Anakin and Oscar, specifically. I set up another fundraiser explaining costs and future needs. If you are in a position to donate, I would truly appreciate it. Any amount helps!

A couple of years ago, I contacted @westchestermagazine , advocating for Pet Sitters in Westchester County, explaining the importance of our service and the differences of personalized care versus boarding facilities. Adding, it should be recognized in their Best of Pet categories. For years, they recognized boarding facilities but not in home personalized care.
