A long time member of MADOC had a bad fall in the summer and has since been in a nursing facility for rehab. We've learned that he will move to NY on Monday. We hope he will continue to improve and thrive near family. Best to you, Bill.

Our Agility Trial was so much fun and Greg Beck gave us some really nice and challenging courses. Thanks for coming, everyone. It's always good to see our friends and pups running and playing the game we love! Save the date for our next trial, March 6-9.

AKC ACT Event
Hosted by Montgomery Alabama Dog Obedience Club
On Saturday, December 14, 2024
At the MADOC Agility Fields on 36 JD Foshee Road, Montgomery

WHO: For dogs at least 15 months old who do not have an AKC agility title. You can enter without an AKC number for your dog, but will need to register your dog with AKC to receive your title certificate.

WHAT: The Agility Course Test (ACT) is designed for beginning level dogs
ACT1/ACT1J is the first level
*10-12 obstacles (A-frame, table, tunnel, jumps)
ACT2/ACT2J is the next level
*11-3 obstacles (may add teeter, tire, dogwalk, 6 weaves, one spread jump)
*Qualifying score of 85
*Earn a title with 2 Qs
*ACT is a Standard course; ACTJ is a Jumpers course
We will offer two rounds(runs) of each class. If you qualify in ACT1, you can enter ACT2 on site.

WHEN: Event begins with ACT1 at 8:30 am on Saturday, December 14

WHERE: At the MADOC agility fields on JD Foshee Road

COST: Each round/run has a $10 entry fee.

HOW TO ENTER: Complete the entry form attached or found on the MADOC website and page. Mail completed entry and fee to Dawn Daly at 3302 Heatherbrook Drive, Opelika, AL 36801 or bring the entry and fee to the event. Please email Dawn Daly at [email protected] if you have questions and/or plan to attend.

WHAT TO BRING: Plan to crate your dog ringside or in your vehicle. Bring water, treats for your dog and lunch for you! Please plan to arrive by 8 am to walk/potty your dog and check in at the gate. There is a human potty on site.

We had our Obedience Trial last weekend and several of our members entered and did very well! Of course, it wouldn't happen without all our worker bees, either. Thanks guys! Dr and Mrs Knight were delightful judges! Alesa Ryals, our Chairman and Beth Harless, our secretary, always available and helpful.
