3 months off and a busy stud season, and he hacks out on the buckle like he was ridden yesterday 🫶🏼
Little video of Wednesday’s hack, trying to film lorry’s zooming past to show what Jovi is like in traffic is pretty funny, as soon as the drivers see the camera they all slow down 😂
But as you can see, he’s not fussed by most things on the road! Il keep attempting to get some of the big lorry’s flying past at some point 👌🏼
I think the question I get asked the most by clients is what is Jovi’s temperament like.
As a stallion who stands for AI, it’s easy to order semen without meeting him in the flesh (and while he is always open to viewings and I very much welcome them, I do understand it’s not always practical for a lot of people) so I try and get as many videos as I can to show what sort of person he is.
I’ve decided to try and get a few more videos over the next few months to try and show what he’s like to those of you who can’t come and see him 🥰 (any videos you’d like to see, feel free to comment a request ⬇️)
This video was taken last week, after I’d been in Scotland for a week. I dragged him in from the field, tacked him up and went for a hack with Chick (a 14 year old Friesian cross Welsh mare).
Jovi is the perfect ‘pick up and drop’ kind of horse I can ride him as much or little as I like, and he rides no differently if he’s ridden daily, to having a month off! Which I absolutely love, knowing if I go on holiday, or travelling I can still come back to a super chill boy who’s happy to go for a plod around the lanes or a gallop across the field 🫶🏼
He rides side by side with mares, loves being in front, is brilliant in busy & heavy traffic and he loves walking through puddles 😂

Nearly 6 weeks into bit-less riding and I thought I’d upload a little hacking video.
I often get asked what Jovi’s temperament is like, if I can I always encourage people to come and meet him but with AI making him easily available to anywhere in the UK I know that’s not always possible, so videos are often the next best thing.
Rather than just the fancy moving videos, I also try and send handling ones - loading, clipping, bathing, grooming etc to really show off what he’s like as a person which I also plan to post more of here too ☺️
This is nearly 6 weeks in to going bit-less, and here is us solo hacking through the village (one handed on a loose rein, trying to film 😅) past cars, trailers and lorry’s. Jovi takes a lot of confidence from his rider, he’s very trusting in what I ‘tell him’, hacks the same alone and in company, pretty good in traffic, like many horses he expresses himself a lot through his ears if he ever gets unsure, you’ll notice this as the lorry that over takes us very close at the end of the video but is always safe and sensible! So anyway, here’s a little snippet of Jovi in traffic 🚙🚛
(You’ll also see him start sniffing after the horse trailer goes past, which he always does smelling the new horses that have just driven by 😂😍!!)
Bit-less is going well.
First proper solo hack today meeting cars, buses, motorbikes, lorries and we even met a new horse - the boy was foot perfect 👌🏼 turns out a bit really doesn’t make much difference to him…other than he can get so much more grass in when we snack 😆 so he’s happy!!!
Finished with a little canter up the drive! 🏇🏽
We’ve decided to go bit-less for a while, as some of you know I rode Kady her entire life bitless, and also trained and rode Barbie bitless and now it’s Jovi’s turn.
With no competitions and silly ‘bit’ rules on the horizon we are now enjoying all the things I’ve always wanted to enjoy with him, and that includes hacking and snacking 😋 first hack today, walk, trot and canter and he’s already loving it 🙏🏼

We were meant to be in Snowdon this weekend, but a very last minute change of plans meant I had to stay behind, so instead I went adventuring with my best boy 🦄
