Friday morning - Loose leash to off leash. For those who are interested how to have better dog handling, I do free training. Slide me a message!
I’m not a certified trainer, I just understand how my dog’s brain works and I’m trying to understand other dog’s motivation and behavior. Training focus is everything.
Don’t forget to walk your dog. 😁

Sometimes when your dog tries to ignore your recall and seeks adventure, just follow and be surprised by an amazing view. 😀
Recall
Recalling your dog is not only a safety thing but also something that is quite amazing. It will take time but the trick is that you have to be the most interesting person your dog knows. Not necessarily the alpha but a loving and gentle leader that your dog respects.
Training recall is something that takes a lot of patience and a lot of “running away” but with consistency with your corrections and the way you portray your energy will make you successful.
Training tools:
Long line
Whistle

Aki and Borgie playtime. 😁
Borgie the 9 month old GD
Direction via Redirection
Dogs are not automatically great at walking. We have to communicate with them through our leash. Our job is to make them understand that there is a better way, a more relax way, the loose leash walking way.
Meet Borgie, a 9 month old Golden Retriever, who refuses to stop pulling because he’d rather do something else than walk beside me. I had to do some minor corrections because we had to use a flat collar since there was no slip leash at our disposal. Nevertheless, in the video, he slowly understood the concept of leash pressure and how to deactivate it by just relaxing. He’s not there yet, but it was a good start!
Thankful for the owners for trusting me with your awesome dog!

Had the privilege to meet and witness awesome people being kind to dogs. Meet my good friends, Justine and Xtine. ❤️
When walking anywhere, remember to breathe and just relax. Shoulders down and have fun!
Minimal Leash Pressure Yielding
Nonverbal communication is much more important than verbal.
In this video, I put him on a long leash and released him to do what he wants or go where he wants. At it’s full extent, I applied a small pressure to communicate with him that he needs to pay attention to where I am. There were also distractions during this time. His best friend was there.
Good job Aki!
Playing Tug + Out
Keeping your dog engaged with you is a conscious effort. Playing tug is an important part of building your relationship but when coupled with “out” or “release” command, you can have fun and train discipline at the same time. 😁
Recall training with long leash and blow whistle
In the past, he doesn’t listen well outside our house but with the right understanding of how his mind works, what motivates him, and the right corrections.
Next challenge is with dogs and distractions.
