Congratulations to Emma Jane for her 3rd place in the PSG yesterday on Dear Friend with a 65% and the final score she needed for her silver medal!🥈 🍾🍾🍾
Thank you to NHDEA - New Hampshire Dressage & Eventing Association for hosting a well run local show, we hope it continues!
Thank you to the big crowd of supporters that came out to cheer Emma and Dusty on! Emma has also done an awesome job learning to ride PSG (no small task) and helping Dusty embrace his schoolmaster job!

We lucked out with perfect weather last weekend for GMHA Dressage Days! Happy to coach Ashley Theodore and 4 yo Pashmina (Gaudi x Fackeltantz) at their first under saddle show. This mare has been super special to develop and she continued to show her quality with a 2nd place in her first test and 69% and first place in her second test. Ashley ended up Reserve Champion Adult Amateur at Training Level for both shows. ⭐️

Great weekend coaching at Life's A Ride Equestrian Center. Highlights include

🔹GP Freestyle debut for Erina White and Daquiri. Despite some technology issues with the music sat they had a great ride and scored a 70%, and it was super fun to see them ride it all in one go on Sunday to a 68%!

🔹Emma Schick and Dear Friend got their qualifying score for 4th level on Sat and won the 4-3, and she had a great second ride Sun at the PSG to 2nd place. Very proud of them especially on their 10 for their centerline which they have been working hard on!

🔹Cindy Collins and Farari had their second show at PSG and continue to improve their tests and Farari’s confidence at shows, resulting in two 3rd place finishes!

🔹 Elizabeth Miles and Calypso had a great ride at T-3 Sunday and then won their 1-1 class!

Thank you to all my staff who kept things running while we ran back and forth to Maine. Thank you Amy Wolfe for trailering Dusty and being a super pit crew for everyone! (Myself included). Thank you to everyone from our barn and extended barn family who came out to cheer their friends on, having a supportive community means everything. Thank you Ryan Lacagnina for the early Saturday help with riding and training the home horses so we could get on the road!

Just home from the Mount Holyoke College Dressage Show. We had a great time! Highlights include:

⭐️ Emma Schick and Dear Friend “Dusty” with Emma’s first PSG debut! They got 1st and 3rd and we are one score away from Emma’s silver medal. So proud of how hard they have both worked and the partnership they have formed.

⭐️ Mary Piro and Querubin got their 🥈 Silver Medal, and 2nd place today, and a top turnout award yesterday. Mary has worked super hard to get back in the saddle this year and it shows!!

⭐️Cindy Collins and Farari with their PSG debut, congrats on bringing another horse to the FEI levels Cindy! 6th place yesterday. And thank you for bringing your pups that provided pup time and entertainment, it wouldn’t have been the same without Mr woofie🤣!

Thanks to the barn staff at home for keeping things running smoothly during our trip. Thanks Ryan Lacagnina for doing a super job keeping the training horses worked while we were gone!

Fun weekend with a field trip to Freeport Equestrian Center to ride Noah with Ben Conn. It was our first trip off the property this year- second ever- and we had a great time in our lesson which was just what we needed. We will keep going forward, literally😊. Thank you Sarah and Bobby and Ben for having us and making sure it was a great experience for a young horse. Thanks Crystal Potter for the ride and support with your boy Noah!
Finished the day out with some multi tasking as Amy Wolfe took over trailer driving so I could virtually coach Erina White who showed at Bear Spot. First time out at GP this season and congrats on your High Point FEI AA ribbon and in a snaffle 🎊.

Belgian Warmblood Gelding
Hunter/Jumper, but also open to dressage riders
Located at J Freiman Dressage Dover NH (must be onsite)

He is a really sweet in your pocket horse. Such a gentle giant and doesn’t know his own size. He’s happy to do whatever with you and is very easy going. Looking for a gentle rider that wants some easy fun saddle time and not excessive work. He is delicate but still a great ride!! Spent the last 6 months getting him back into shape and he is doing really well.

2019 KWPN gelding by Just Wimphof. 16.2h, super FEI prospect. Easy in the bridle, great temperament for an amateur but quality for a professional. Hind leg always steps under and the canter is very balanced. Full set of rads including back and neck approved by European and US vets. Out of a strong mare line that has produced multiple FEI horses. Very sweet personality. Pm for more info.

Finally home from a great week at NEDA Fall! Always fun to see and support our barn mates and our friends.
Congrats to everyone who braved the rain and temp drops and rode!
We had a great week!
Emma Schick competed my horse Dear Friend at her first ever regional championships at 3-3. Out of the ribbons but a very respectable placing in a large class.
They rounded out the weekend by moving up to 4-3 with a 3rd place sat despite Dusty not loving the cold rain on his back and 1st place Sun with a 69%! Yay! First silver medal scores for Emma.
Erina White and Daquiri finished 6th in the AA Grand Prix regional championships and 5th in the I2 regional championships! Their first year at this level. This means that Daquiri and Erina have attended championships at every level since training level together!
Cindy Collins moved up to 4-3 with a 5th place finish and some great moments, and it’s great to see Farari start to relax in the show ring!
I competed 5 yo Nordic W (Tiger) owned by Regent Holdings LLC. We had a great championship ride at Training Level (his first time in the big rings) but we were just out of the ribbons! We moved up to First Level with a 2nd place Saturday and a 1st place on Sunday with 74%. Can’t thank Carol Anne and Tyler enough for the ride on Tiger this season, he’s been a blast and will be thrilled to have Carol Anne take the reins next year! Thank you Jennifer Wilson-Horr for helping us and Evi Strasser for kicking our butts recently!!!
Thanks Jen and Karen for the support and laughs and congrats Karen on your successes! Thanks Amy Wolfe for coming down to help organize us and support and settle us and keep me from getting on horses an hour early 🤣. It was such a great group and we had a blast! Thanks The Simple Equine for keeping our horses shiny and EQ Saddle Science for keeping Tiger happy as he grows 🫣🤣. Thanks to all my staff and clients and family at home for holding down the fort!

I bought Ojalá (Vitalis—Fienna, Sir Sinclair) from her breeder, Belinda Nairn, as a foal. She grew up in a field, learned to stand on crossties, lead, have a bath, be civilized. At 3, she was backed. She learned to walk, trot and canter on the bit like a lady, work with other horses in the ring, ...

We had a great time at HITS this week, highlights include Nordic W owned by Regent Holdings LLC scoring a 75% on Friday and ending up 3rd in the East Coast Rider’s Cup for Training Level! Phanci and I did our first freestyle which she freestyled herself on Friday🤪. Saturday made some adjustments and it felt great until we got the dreaded whistle- turns out she had caught her front pastern with her hind foot and there was blood. Always disappointing but I appreciate the intent of the rule to keep our horses safe! Cindy Collins had two solid rides for her 4-3 debut with Farari and Zen got to go back in the ring a couple of times. We were both rusty but he was relaxed and happy! Amy Wolfe’s horse Leo came along to school and he was the perfect 3 yo, he’s an old soul. Thank you to everyone who came it’s truly a team effort. Thank you to my clients for my new horse show set up and for all the troubleshooting and thought that went into it. And thank you to the owners of all the horses for allowing me the ride on them! And of course huge thanks to everyone at home for holding down the fort so this can be possible.

We said “so long for now” to Arizona Pie this week as he has convinced his amazing owner Amy Wolfe that retirement is his next chapter! He’s been a lucky son of a gun from day one but now he gets to live in Virginia with some of his old horse friends and loaf around all day! Amy learned so much on him and I still tell her the only reason she stayed a client initially was because I was impressed she could sit his shenanigans. They both learned a ton along the journey! Thank you to all his vets, farriers, accupuncturists, care takers, clinicians etc along the way. Especially Great Bay Equine for the years of being willing to listen to us and go searching as he is such a sensitive dude. He reinforced my belief that horses basically aren’t bad and if there’s something odd about their behavior it’s our job to listen to them and go searching. Often it’s not one answer but multiple factors at play. He’s so lucky to retire fat happy and sound!

Dogs, horses, humans—we’re all malleable, but never more than as youngsters. Our early years are so terribly critical. It’s why the folks who take Thoroughbreds off the track, or who fetch neglect cases from the auction, and make them into good citizens in sport disciplines are really so extra...

Phanci and I got to go on a much needed field trip this weekend to ride with Evi Strasser at Freeport Equestrian Center. Thank you Evi for seeing right into our toughest areas and the words of wisdom and encouragement, and thank you Sarah and Bobby for having us at your top-notch facility! So well run and welcoming. Hitting our homework hard already this week much to Phanci’s dismay🤣💖. Photos by Hannah Marie Photography. Thank you Amy Wolfe for the ride there and support!!

Thank you Equanimity Farm for hosting a great clinic with Jennifer Wilson-horr this Saturday. We brought Carol Ann Head’s young horse Tiger as his first off the property outing and he didn’t put a foot wrong. I warmed him up for a few minutes and handed the reins to mom! Tiger was fascinated by meeting chickens for the first time, I think he wants some🤣. Dusty also got to tag along so Emma Jane can get some practice riding him away from home and they looked great and got their butts kicked😇. Thanks Beverly for hosting these- the farm and footing is top notch and everyone is lovely. Thank you Jenn for all the help and knowing when to push us for more!

We had a wonderful clinic this weekend with Ben Franklin Dressage and Rob Waine Dressage. Their attention to detail and basics is so appreciated and everyone had great rides. Thank you to everyone who pulled together and made this happen seamlessly. There were a lot of you!! It’s always great to get homework and to support each other within the barn and the local dressage community in the pursuit of this really hard sport. We got to watch a lot of great riders and horses and I think most of us will need a rest day tomorrow😆!
