The horses I've worked with have been my greatest teachers, revealing parts of myself that needed growth and transformation. They've taught me the power of communication, the art of listening, the virtue of patience, and the importance of perseverance.
Each horse has been a mosaic piece in my heart, and their lessons have been invaluable.
One of the most significant lessons I've learned is that giving up is never an option. Instead, we must rest, reevaluate, and try again. Here are some of our horses and their inspiring journeys.🐛🦋
Caleb is an absolute legend!
This beautiful boy has survived the unthinkable in life, rescued by us in 2017 from an unfit owner!
Caleb soon became one of our leading therapy horses in helping participants with PTSD heal.
He is very intuitive and passionate about his calling.
Due to the drought and feed shortages,Caleb was put out on spell alongside his herd members while we focused on rehabilitating and rehoming the current rescues. While on spell Caleb fell severely ill with sand compaction colic. He was rushed to Perth equine so our wonderful vets could save his life.
He had to spend over two weeks in intensive care where the veterinary team worked tirelessly to save his life. Caleb never backs down from a fight and never gives up. This boy has a strong spirit that wants to live!!! He is making a full recovery and is eager to get back to his job healing people.
Unfortunately our small self funded rescue is doing it tough with the multiple vet bills, hay shortage and astronomical prices of hay. Therefore one of our supporters and friends @_beth.d.king took the initiative to set up a go fund me for Caleb's vet bills.
At this time we appreciate any form of support whether its prayers, well wishes, a share or small donation of Caleb's go fund me.

Poor Oakley is struggling a little bit this week.
Forward we go, upward and onwards. Every step forward is a step in the right direction. This little guy is a brave boy!
My dream was to create a safe haven for horses and humans. ❤️
Reflecting back on 8 years of hard work which is impossible to fit into a short video.
Seeing how far all the horses have come throughout the years and how many lives they have touched is all the motivation I need to continue working towards growing BHR.
I am looking forward to continuing walking alongside humans and horses while they embark on their healing journeys together.
Thank you to my "healing team" of volunteers, supporters, clients and like minded professionals that contribute to every rescue horse's rehabilitation journey.
Oakley
Little Oakley has struggled with a bad laminitis flair up. We have been carefully managing him, however it kept getting worse. He could barely walk at all on pain relief. We expected him to be a difficult rehabilitation case but it's still hard to see animals suffer due to the negligence of humans.
Thanks to Dr Emma and her lovely team at Murdoch, he has now started on a new treatment.
Day 2 and he is already walking much better.
I am so proud of this little guy's perseverance and will to recover. 🙏
He is a special little dude! 🤩
Thank you to all the volunteers that are helping little Oakley on his rehabilitation journey.
I will need some more "walking" volunteers when I leave for Namibia soon. 🚶
Rescue mare and foal excited for dinner.
