UPDATE (28 June 2021)

Thank you everyone who have contributed generously to our appeal. There are too many of you to list in this post but you know who you are and we are eternally grateful for your thoughtful gesture.

It has only been a week since we launched our appeal and to date, you have all helped to raise SGD49,515 (RM148,545)! It just goes to show that many people contributing any amount, no matter how big or small can achieve the desired results and more.

We are indeed overwhelmed that we have exceeded the target and because of you, we are delighted to have enough to pay our food bill to feed our 700 dogs and 300 cats for the next 6 weeks.

DELIVERY STATUS:
An order was placed with the supplier for the new generator but the FMCO (Full Movement Control Order) has just been extended and the supplier is not able to transport the generator to the sanctuary.

We are now exploring an alternative to get it delivered by a third party which will incur additional cost which is unavoidable. Fortunately, our neighbour, a factory next door, has kindly loaned us their spare generator until we can get ours delivered and installed. We are grateful to them for their help.

APPEAL FOR PURCHASE OF NEW GENERATOR

After years of service and recently after many breakdowns, our 20 year old generator has decided to stop working and cannot be repaired after several attempts to do so have failed.

We are off the grid and depend on the generator for electricity, lighting, air-conditioning for the clinic and refrigeration of food and medicine. We also had to shut down the clinic and this has severely impacted our operations.

This could not have come at a worse time! We are still in lockdown and suffering the effects of the ongoing pandemic with reduced funding from the public. Our contingency fund has been depleted as we have had to rely on it to pay for food costs and sanctuary operations.

A quotation of RM60,000 (SGD20,000) has been received for the purchase and installation of a new generator. This amount also includes general improvement to the area where the generator will be housed.

If you can help, we would appreciate any amount, no matter how big or small so we can resume our operations.

Dear friends of NANAS

We celebrate 25 years of animal welfare this year but our plans for organising our annual dinner has been cancelled due to restrictions imposed by the government during this pandemic.

Not being able to host the dinner is unfortunate but missing out on the proceeds which goes towards funding our operations at the sanctuary is a bigger blow. We are also concerned that contributions from our online appeals are slowly dwindling.

The only other project we can think of is to start work on the production of our Noah’s Ark 2021 calendar. How do you like our front cover?

Many of you look forward to our calendars every year, and as usual, it comes packed with articles and important information about NANAS. It not only raises awareness for our work with the animals but also helps us pay the bills.
