Almost exactly 10 years ago, Batman was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. Despite everything we tried, his seizures were never fully under control. There were lots of good days but also lots of bad days, and sometimes really really bad days. Even then, I kept hoping that someday he’d get better. Sadly, I watched my little man’s health and quality of life start to really decline over these last few months and knew that it was time to say goodbye…
Batman, I held you in my lap as you took your last breath and made your journey over the rainbow bridge. Before you left, I made sure you had a full tummy so that you didn’t get hungry along the way. You were so excited for eggs and bacon, a whole funfetti cake all to yourself, a starbies pup cup, nutella, and chocolate! You were so full that you had food coma and decided to take a nap on my lap. While you were falling asleep, I told you how much I loved you one last time and then you drifted off peacefully to dreamland forever. These last few days have been extremely hard without you and our home is too quiet now without your snores. We miss you so so much already, Boots. Please tell your sister, Deedee, I said hello and that I miss her so much too. Rest in peace my little man, you’re free now ❤️
