What a nice end to the week.

I can finally announce this exciting news. I've been waiting for conformation before I posted about it.

I have won 1st place in the WPPI 1st half online competition in the animal and pet category.

For my cat friends, this is like winning supreme in group at a national show!

Last time I won a category at WPPI was in 2011 in the children’s portrait category. Not an easy thing to win.

Thanks has to go out to the great Tadoo and Liz his owner, this shoot was designed for him and I was trying to decide between this and his to enter. Don’t worry, will enter that elsewhere LOL.

To all my photography friends out there.

If you are considering entering photographic competitions, please consider this. A while back I created a program called 79 to gold. Its about using photography competitions to improve your photography.

For a long time, I have seen the disappointment that competition can bring, and is a big reason why we created this program in the first place. Competitions in photography are weird in that they are the opinion of the judge on the day. Therefore, what wins today, might not win tomorrow and that can do our heads in at times. We want the process of getting the photo ready for competition to be the valuable part, not the accolades at the end. Anything above nothing is a bonus.

Because times are really tough at the moment, this program is going to be made free to 1000 people. If you want in follow the link, or share it if you know people that might benefit from this. We are all finding life tough right now. This is our way of giving back to the community that we have been a part of for such a long time.
You don’t have to be a professional photographer to benefit from this program, its designed for anyone from camera clubs, self-taught amateurs, right up to professional photographers wanting to get their head in a good space when competing.

FREE till the end of 2020 or until we have 1000 people enrolled. Wanted to put a number on it so it is manageable with my time.

Today is my 50th Birthday and I have decided to devote the rest of my life to what I love to talk about the most! Cats and their wellbeing. I’ve been working behind the scenes getting ready for a launch date of today! This virus has everyone freaking out but hey, what else can I do from home then do what I had planed and launch anyway. Its in the middle of the worst crisis the world has ever seen but I am going to have to start sometime, so why not today.

My photography is the bedrock of my messages. I will use it to get attention to get my message out. My years of teaching experience will be used to spread the message and inspire responsible cat ownership. My love for these little furbags is what will drive me to make this successful.

I have been very naughty and not posted on my business page for ages. I have had other distractions that have taken my focus away but I have returned. Ready to share what I have been up to.

I have started a new arm of my photography business that is all about photographing cats. This includes a new YouTube channel that you might enjoy.

Dorothea Lange was a ground breaker being an American documentary photographer and photojournalist documenting the Depression-era. Lange's photographs influenced the development of documentary photography and showed a human side and the consequences of the Great Depression. What a remarkable lady.
