Meet Gus, we brought this little guy into rescue at the end of October. We have had several visits to the eye doc to determine how to treat his eyes. Dr. said that he is blind in both eyes and nothing will bring his sight back. We felt it was in his best interest to have both eyes removed. If we had not done this his eyes would have to be monitored constantly along with a regimen of drops to make sure that the pressure did not build in them and result in a rupture. Taking all of this into consideration and the fact that he is only 2 years old and has adjusted very well to the fosters home and yard we decided to have both eyes removed and have his neuter done at the same time. He is a very good boy . For being blind and young he has learned the lay of the land, he is housebroken and is just very sweet and just wants to be a lap dog. We are asking for donations to help pay for the surgery. If all goes well Gus should be available for adoption in the next month or so.

Meet Gator. Gator is a all around great boy. Gets along with other dogs , loves kids, loves people, he has the best personality. He had surgery this week to remove a mass from his rear area that was causing him some problems. The mass was sent off to determine what it is. The doctor said his surgery went well. Gator will be ready for adoption in about 3 weeks if his sample comes back clear. He is a 2yr old neutered male, utd on all medical he is housebroken and good on a leash.

GIZMO PUPDATE from his foster family below:

Gizmo update: Gizmo walking the entire Zoey’s Path and tail nub wagging!
So this is a long video but I wanted to show Gizmo walking the entire path for any new people here who have never seen the whole path. He LOVES it and does so well. He’s got such pep in his step for a 13 year old. He’s mesmerized by the cows and does some serious tail nub wagging for them. There are plenty of areas on the path that we don’t cut back because we know for sure there are plenty of wild bunnies living in there and Gizmo has figured that out too. He’s got such a great sniffer. The enchanted forest part of the path we don’t cut back either so we don’t disturb the bunnies and other little animals living in it PLUS that’s the area that we turn into the SPOOKY path during Halloween and Zoey would lead the others on the zombie hunt. I don’t know if I’m ready to do the haunted forest without Zoey yet though….we’ll see 😢 Anyhoos, Gizmo is doing great 👍

Gizmo Update from his foster family below:

GIZMO PUPDATE: This is strictly a Look How Handsome He Is update ☺️ SO HANDSOME 🙌

Ok P.S. He’s doing fantastic, acts like he’s lived here forever. He’s got the routine of the house down, loves his walkies on Zoey’s Path, great appetite, will get recheck on his old man hip after he completes the med cycle. He’s very comfortable and doing GREAT, fits in perfectly. Still working on him and Tate being friends but it will come.

Gizmo Update from his foster family below:

GIZMO PUPDATE: Gizmo met the cows and LOVES Zoey’s Path ❤️ For those who are new here you can search Zoey’s page for Zoey’s Path to learn more about it but several years ago we poured a concrete dog path around our acreage so all the dogs would have a safe dog walk on our own property. Anyhoos, Gizmo LOVES going for walkies on Zoey’s Path. He goes about four times a day and would go as many times as we’d let him lol! He met the cows and is OBSESSED with them, he goes straight for the areas he knows they are at. We only went about 1/4 of the way this time but he can easily do the entire path. I’ll post him doing the whole path soon, just had an appointment to get to this particular time.

Angel went to her furever home yesterday! This was a long time coming but it was worth the wait for her, she went to a wonderful family and they are already in love with her!

GIZMO UPDATE from his foster family below:

Camp Zoey update: SILVER HIPPO TAG and The Benefits of Being Half Deaf!
Sadie and the daddy playing their daily game of tag while Gizmo has no idea lol! The benefits of being nearly deaf is you get the best sleep in the house no matter what chaos is going on around you lol!
GIZMO medical update: GREAT NEWS his heartworm test was negative and labs came back good so he was able to get started on some meds to hopefully help his old man left hip. We’re going to see if any improvement or not in a couple weeks do a recheck and go from there. Finally got his urine and stool sample dropped off so waiting for that to come back. Overall doing very well! 🙌
He’s not making friends with Mr. Tate yet but I’m sure he will warm up in time. Him and Sadie are doing great together.

Gizmo vet UPDATE from his foster family see below:

GIZMO PUPDATE: We just got home from our first vet appointment…but wait, just lookit, lookit those white eyelashes, who can focus??? Ok so Gizmo weighs 26 pounds! He has full mature cataracts in the left eye and almost full cataracts in the right eye. So he is pretty blind, she said he can probably see light or shadow movement in the left eye but not much else. He got his eye pressures checked, left is not bad, right isnt too bad but is higher than the left, creeping up a little so they gave him some eye ointment for any inflammation for now and we’ll recheck. The pink strip on his left cheek is facial fold pyoderma and we’re treating it with animax ointment and she says that was right thing to do. It’s already looking better. We’re also putting animax on a pink spot on his belly and that is clearing up too. He got labs drawn, heartworm test since he’s never been on heartworm prevention, I have to bring urine and stool back up there since he wouldn’t deliver on the spot lol! He got his nails trimmed and an ear wash, no ear infection, no sign of heart murmur. He does have an issue with most likely that left hip, the left knee seemed stable upon examination. So we are having to wait for lab results to see how his liver and kidneys are functioning before she decides what meds to prescribe and we will most likely do X-rays on the hip once he’s on meds and more comfortable. His teeth are 13 year old teeth but she’s seen worse. Pending labs and considering age any dental decisions are a wait and see for now. So fingers crossed for good labs , good organ function and no heartworms 🤞🤞 We will update when we get those results. Thank you everyone of you who has supported Gizmo ❤️❤️
