When senior dogs get a second chance with wonderful families magic happens! Saving K9 Lives Plus rescued 12 yr old Yorkie, Flynn from San Diego Shelter. Flynn is 16 yrs old and his family loves him so much that he has the him immortalized in his arm.
Love is eternal.

Update from Trinity’s adopter:

Hi Jasmin, I adopted Trinity back in April 2021. Wanted to provide an update on her. I renamed her to Maggie and she’s doing great. She’s definitely the boss as she likes to put Perrie (my other dog) in her place and is the gate keeper to the sofa. Maggie’s still a picky eater but if I hand feed her while she’s on the sofa, she’ll eat. Truly a pampered pup, but she deserves it. I’ll be going to Italy for a year coming in Feb and will be taking both my pups with me, but will return to California the following year. I’m excited to be able to travel with Maggie and give her lots of love and outdoor experiences (don’t worry, Maggie will be traveling in cabin at the foot area, there’s NO WAY I would put them as cargo/checkin luggage). While Maggie still doesn’t have use of her back legs, they move and it seems like she’s using them to balance. People have noticed and asked if she’s using her back legs. Other then that, she’s doing great. Hope all is well at the rescue! Merry Christmas and happy holidays.

Meet 3 lbs 11 yr old Yorkie, Bindi. Bindi was surrendered after her mama died. Bindi wants to be in a lap with one person. She is very tiny and does not bark.
Bindi needs a dental cleaning for her remaining teeth plus bloodwork. She has slight hazing of her eyes. Bindi is eating Caesar dog food. We are trying to wean her to fresh homemade. Meet puppy Rikki, 3.5 lbs 12 week old Maltipoo rescued from Los Angeles East Valley Shelter. The shelter vet could not figure out why puppy Rikki has difficulty pooping. We took Rikki to Dr Norman, Internist vet. X-rays did not show anything, finger probe no blockage. Dr Norman told us to monitor Rikki then bring him back. We are trying different diets. Once we figure out what is wrong with Rikki, he will get neutered and be up for adoption. www.savingk9livesplus.org

Tiny Boggart came down with kennel cough. He was coughing and wheezing all night. Boggie still doesn’t want to eat so his foster mom is giving him baby food. Boggie is on oxygen with nebulizer with antibiotics. Hopefully he will be better in a few days.

Meet Boggart aka Muppet from Chesterfield South Los Angeles Shelter. Boggie is 6-7 yrs old weighs 3 lbs Mi-Ki mix. The little guy is scared and a little nippy but he will be fine in a few days. Boggie pooped all over himself and the carrier. He needed a bath as soon as he arrived at his foster home. The shelter vet medical report says he has an palpable open fontanel on top of his head, luxating patella, dental disease and needs to be neutered.

Boggie has a vet appointment tomorrow at 10:30am. More updates after the vet hospital.

Puppy Thatcher, 4 month old 4.5 lbs Morkie, is starting to run the best he can. Thatcher saw the neurologist. Dr ONeille is recommending putting Thatcher on medication for possible Hydrocephalus. We believe he has Cerebellum Hypoplasia.

Puppy Thatcher, 4 lbs 12 weeks old Morkie, rescued from LA County Downey Shelter is doing well at his foster home. Thatcher maybe cerebellum hyperplasia. The rescue is waiting for results of bloodwork. The shelter thought he may have gotten into something toxic, which needed to be ruled out. We will set up an appointment with the neurologist.

Puppy Thatcher, 6 week old 3 lbs Yorkie mix male puppy rescued from LA County Downey Shelter. The shelter thought Thatcher had a reaction to some type of toxicity. It has been a week and Thatcher has been improving. He has problems walking and gets food all over himself when he eats. We are guessing Thatcher have cerebellar hyperplasia. He needs to see a neurologist.

It was a long day as our team member from Saving K9 Lives Plus drove to LA County Downey Shelter to rescue a 4 week old, 2.5 lbs Yorkie Terrier puppy that had been surrendered because of possible toxicity. The puppy, Thatcher was very weak as the shelter gave him nutrical and a bath to wash possible flea treatment. The puppy felt a little better. The puppy was taken to be checked at the vet hospital. He was given vitamin B12 injection and needed to be monitored. Thatcher had a seizure minutes away from his foster home. He came out of it and wanted to eat everything as he was very hungry. We are guessing his seizure was from dehydration, hunger and toxicity. Thatcher was fed 3 more times during the night. Thatcher has neurological issues but time may heal him. His foster mom is monitoring him.
Thatcher is doing much better this morning. We will post updates on his progress.
