Familiarization: For the first few days, let your dog lick a small amount of toothpaste from your finger or the toothbrush to get used to the taste. 2. Positive Reinforcement 🦷 Treats and Praise: Reward your dog with treats and verbal praise whenever they allow you to touch their mouth or handle the toothbrush. This creates a positive association with the brushing process. Short Sessions: Keep initial brushing sessions very short, even just a few seconds, and gradually increase the time as your dog becomes more comfortable. 3. Build Up to Brushing 🦷 Finger Brush: Start by gently rubbing your dog’s gums and teeth with your finger or a finger brush.
