Nala's New Life Rescue A 501(c)3 nonprofit in Palm City, FL animal rescue. WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTERS AND MONETARY DONATIONS!

Nala was a life long companion and friend whose brave fight against bone cancer inspired me to re-name my rescue in honor of her. Nala's New Life Rescue has been saving dogs for years who have no other hope. We have a true "no kill policy" and save dogs who need rescued regardless of age, breed or health issues. We specialize in saving unwanted dogs (and cats) from kill shelters all over Florida w

ho otherwise would be euthanized or gassed, Nala's New Life Rescue pays to pull the dogs to safety, cover all medical and transportation expenses and provides a safe foster home or boarding facility until a foster or forever home is approved. All of our animals have a full veterinary examination, vaccinations and are spayed or neutered. We care for them until they are emotionally and or physically healed or a home becomes available. Nala’s New Life Rescue has saved and placed over 150 dogs in new homes in 2016. Nala's New Life Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Congratulations to Tyson on his adoption! This handsome boy was rescued by Nalas from Okeechobee and transported last week to our partner Darbster in NH. With his amazing personality, it didn’t take him long for him to find his forever home. We wish Tyson and his family years of fun and happiness.

Congratulations to Squirrel (now named Nala) on her adoption! This sweet girl was quickly losing hope as she sat at Okeechobee Animal Control, hoping for a miracle. She had a family and then next thing she knew she was brought to the county shelter. She was a beautiful, young, friendly dog but the problem is she was heartworm positive and the chances of someone adopting her or a rescue saving her with the mounting costs of heartworm treatment were growing slimmer by the
day. Barbi arrived at the shelter last April to choose the dogs for transport to NH and because they do not allow heartworm-positive dogs into their state, Squirrel could not be considered. After selecting the dogs going on transport, Barbi never forgot about Squirrel and came back to rescue her the next week. An amazing family was interested in adopting Squirrel and they fostered her through her grueling months of heartworm treatment. Finally, Squirrel received a negative heartworm test last week. We are thrilled to announce her adoption to a wonderful family complete with 2 kids to entertain her. We wish Squirrel (Nala) and her new family years of happiness.

Merry Christmas everyone from Nala's New Life Rescue. We have a tradition every year at Christmas, we save a dog from a shelter who is in desperate need of rescue. This year we have chosen Zena, a beautiful, sweet girl at Okeechobee Animal Control. We chose Zena because she was originally scheduled to be transported to NH with her best friend a couple weeks ago. Sadly, Zena tested heartworm-positive and NH does not allow heartworm-positive dogs to enter their state. So Zena's best friend went to NH and was immediately adopted, leaving Zena behind. She is very dog-friendly and loves people. We are rescuing Zena as our "Christmas Dog 2024" and hope to raise $500.00 for her heartworm treatment. We also need a foster home for her to stay in while going thru her treatment, it has been proven time and again that dogs who receive their heartworm treatment while being fostered in a peaceful home recover a lot faster. Of course, all she needs will be provided by the rescue. We will keep everyone updated on her progress and thank you for sharing her story.
Donations for her medical treatment are gratefully accepted here on Facebook or on our website at www.nalasrescue.org. We are a 501(c)3 and donations are tax deductible.

TC is a handsome 8 year old male cat who is in URGENT need of a Christmas miracle. Nala's rescued TC 4 years ago when his owner passed away. He has been living in a foster home until a few days ago and he is now boarding at All Creatures Animal Hospital but that is only until next Monday as they do not have any space due to reservations for Christmas boarding.
TC is diabetic but he is doing great. He does not need insulin injections, his medication is drops put on his food. He eats good and his bloodwork is perfect. He has been under the care of All Creatures his entire life so has received all necessary veterinary care. TC lived with dogs before we rescued him and we do not know if he is good with other cats. He enjoys people and he loves going out on a screened patio or enclosure.
If you have never fostered or adopted from us before, you will be required to file an application on our website at www.nalasrescue.org

Nala's New Life Rescue held its third annual Pickleball Tournament last Saturday and Sunday, and despite the rain and numerous delays, it was a huge success. Eight lucky dogs from Nala's who are looking for their forever homes totally enjoyed their afternoon mingling with the players. It takes a village to make an event like this successful, and Nala's New Life Rescue is thankful for all the generous people who gave their time to help our dogs.

We would like to thank Karin Decoste with North River Shores Tennis Club, Renee Scott and Dr. Mary Bressman for their dedication and hard work to make this an event everyone looks forward to. Lucy and Henry represented Jensen Beach High School Pickleball Club and Laura Spillman also contributed to making this tournament a reality. And a big thank you to Mike Cilurso (Wiggle's new dad) who spent the day Saturday cooking for everyone, we appreciate his efforts.

Congratulations to Bella and Bijou on their adoption! This sweet mom and her son were rescued from Okeechobee Animal Control and after arriving at Nala's it was clear how bonded these 2 were. We decided to adopt them together only. It took a little time but they have found their forever home. Many thanks to Shelley for adopting this little family and giving them a perfect home. We wish Bella, Bijou and their mom a lifetime of happiness!

Congratulations to Bruno on his adoption! This precious little guy was very scared when Nala's rescued him from Okeechobee Animal Control as he had just been surrendered by his family so it is understandable why he was terrified. After a couple days at Nala's ranch, he started trusting and loved socializing with the other dogs. By the time transport day came, he was like a new dog. Bruno was adopted by a volunteer at Darbster right away so he is now happy and comfortable in his new home. We wish Bruno and his new mom all the best.

Bear is a 4-year-old, 5.5 lbs, Pomeranian/Papillion rescued from Okeechobee. He is now neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is good with other dogs, very laid-back, independent and gentle. A little brushing every day is all he needs to maintain his beautiful coat. Unfortunately, Bear is heartworm positive and is currently going thru the slow treatment due to his size: Every month, he gets 1 tablet of Heartgard, is tested every 6 months and is restricted to limited exercise, no crazy play. He enjoys a little walk and roaming on the patio or backyard. He currently lives in a wonderful foster home but we'd love to find him a forever home. An all-adult family or person who has time to care for him would be perfect. Nala's Rescue will cover his heartworm treatment at our veterinarian in Stuart,FL until he is clear.

You can meet Bear at the Pickleball tournament this Saturday 12/14 /24 around 11am. Come and meet with him and his foster Mama. Admission is free, and it will be fun to look at all the dogs, the games, and the awesome raffle baskets.
It is at North River Shores Tennis Club, 2393 Britt Rd in North Stuart/Jensen Beach.

We just rescued this sweet girl and you can meet her Saturday 12/14, between 10am-noon at the adoption/Foster event at the Pickleball tournament.
Luna is a sweet 5 year old female mixed breed who loves people. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Luna enjoys the company of other dogs and would do best with a fenced yard. She loves to play and weighs 35 pounds. Luna is housebroken and knows basic commands. Luna is looking forward to having a home of her own and she will make an excellent companion.
You are welcome to put an application to adopt Luna. It is on our website at www.nalasrescue.org, and please come and meet with her a many other dogs available for foster and adoption

Adoption Process and fees

When you first contact us to adopt a dog, you will be asked to fill out and submit an application on our website at nalasrescue.org/adoption-application

The application will be reviewed by the members of our adoption committee to ensure that the family will be able to match the dog or cat’s needs, and that we can move forward to a safe and happy adoption. The first thing we do after receiving an application is to check vet references (if available) and personal references (if there is no vet reference).

If the references check out, you will be contacted for a meet and greet with the dog or cat you applied for. Please come with an open mind. You might meet more dogs and cats, and who knows where the perfect connection will be?

If the meet and greet goes well, we then conduct a home visit with all your household members, humans and pets, and if the home visit goes well, we’ll be ready to finalize the adoption.
