Nala was a life long companion and friend whose brave fight against bone cancer inspired me to re-name my rescue in honor of her. Nala's New Life Rescue has been saving dogs for years who have no other hope. We have a true "no kill policy" and save dogs who need rescued regardless of age, breed or health issues. We specialize in saving unwanted dogs (and cats) from kill shelters all over Florida w
ho otherwise would be euthanized or gassed, Nala's New Life Rescue pays to pull the dogs to safety, cover all medical and transportation expenses and provides a safe foster home or boarding facility until a foster or forever home is approved. All of our animals have a full veterinary examination, vaccinations and are spayed or neutered. We care for them until they are emotionally and or physically healed or a home becomes available. Nala’s New Life Rescue has saved and placed over 150 dogs in new homes in 2016. Nala's New Life Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

This is one of Nala's rescue dogs, sweet Sadie and she desperately needs your help. This poor girl had a terrible beginning to life as she was one of the dogs rescued a few years ago from an extremely neglectful hoarding situation in Okeechobee where she lived in a shed. She was nursed back to health and finally received a negative on her tests after a couple years when unfortunately she was stung by a bee while walking in her yard and she was treated for a severe allergic reaction. Since then she has had continuous problems and had surgery to have her spleen removed 2 weeks ago. Now today she is fighting for her life at the Emergency veterinary in North Palm Beach where she is having a blood transfusion for internal bleeding. Nala's has sadly had one emergency after another the last couple of weeks and we are hoping to raise the minimum of $2,000 which is needed to pay her bills while they try to figure out why this is happening. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help Sadie.
Donations are gladly accepted on our website, see link in first comment, and on Facebook

Another transport success story. Kane has found a person just perfect for him and we are so happy. Kane and most dogs we transport to Northern States would not have a chance at being adopted here and Let's keep this transport program rolling

We wanted to share a big Happy 5th Birthday to all 10 of Hope's puppies! This is one of her puppies named Nala enjoying her birthday cake. It is hard to believe they are 5 years old and we will never forget the adventure and love these 10 puppies brought to everyone at Nala's. For 2 months, volunteers had to take turn watching them 24/7 and many beautiful human friendships were created over these puppies and their Mom. All of the puppies are in loving homes and have grown up to be big dogs. We luckily get to see some of them often and Hope is still a fixture at Nala's ranch. We wish them all many more happy years.

Captain is a lovable, amazing small male Lab mix patiently waiting for his forever home. Captain is 3 years old and weighs only 20 pounds. This is a small dog with a big heart! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped, is very active and would be happiest with a fenced yard. Captain loves people, he is really good with cats, and children. Captain is very well-behaved including being housebroken and knowing basic commands. He has made great progress walking on a leash and learning to socialize since he was rescued from Okeechobee Animal Control by Nala's. Captain, like many of the dogs we rescue from Okeechobee is heartworm positive and Nala's will cover the treatment. But we would love to see him happy in a local family, in Martin, St Lucie or North Palm Beach county so he has an easy access to our veterinarian in Stuart for the duration of his treatment (2-3 months)
Interested? Please apply on our website at www.nalasrescue.org

Congratulations to Koko and Marcus on their adoption together! Marcus is one of Molly's puppies who was in a foster home with Sandra waiting for his forever home when Nala's New Life Rescue received a call about a 1-pound tiny Chihuahua abandoned in Okeechobee. When she arrived at Sandra's, Marcus quickly took her under his wing and they have been inseparable ever since. They could only be adopted together and we were thrilled when Camille and Dennis adopted them. The dogs have settled in and are enjoying their new home. Many thanks to Sandra for fostering Koko and Marcus and to Camille and Dennis for welcoming them into their family. We hope they all have many wonderful years together.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, LUKE DAY has been canceled for 2025 as the 2 venues we had on site are no longer available. This will make for a very rough year for Nala's rescue, as this comes on the back of another big event cancellation, and we were counting on these 2 fundraisers to support our dogs and cats. We'll have to rely on online fundraisers and we'll miss meeting many of our supporters.
Luke Day is coming April 5th, 2025 and the organization committee at is already hard at work.
Would you like to help? We need more vendors for the Marketplace and Gift baskets for the giant silent auction. Showcase your business in a friendly family setting. Please message us .
Luke Day is an annual event at the Memorial Park downtown Stuart, organized by the realtors at NextHome Treasure Coast and is a beautiful day of celebrating family, homes and pets. All proceeds go to Nala's New Life Rescue

Dr. Mary Bressman and a friendly owl from Treasure Coast Wildlife enjoyed the premier of Jeff Corwin's documentary featuring Nala's New Life Rescue. Dr. Mary at All Creatures Animal Hospital, cares for hundreds of transport cats and dogs each year, performing all the spay/neuter, vaccines, health certificates and heartworm treatments for Nala's cats and dogs prior to their transport up north. We cannot say enough about her dedication and compassion for these animals, allowing them a second chance at life!

Congratulations to Tipper on his adoption! This sweet little doggie was rescued by Nala's from Okeechobee Animal Control and transported to our partner in NH. It didn't take long for him to find his forever home. We hope he is staying warm up there and from Tipper being at our ranch, we can tell his new family he is just the best little dog. We hope they enjoy him as much as we did at our ranch. We all love you Tipper!

Would you like to adopt a cat who will sit on your lap all day? Meet Abby. At first, this gorgeous Tuxedo girl is a little shy but once she gets to know you, she quickly becomes your shadow. She is very affectionate and cuddly, a complete homebody who does not like to travel, She is good with other cats but please make sure your cat is also friendly as she already had one bad experience. She deserves to receive as much love as she is giving.
We are located in Palm City, FL . Please apply on our website at www.nalasrescue.org

7 year old Brittany is dreaming of being adopted by a nice person or family. www.nalasrescue.org
Update on the plea for 2 weeks of foster homes to save the lives of 3 Okeechobee dogs.
First of all, THANK YOU, we rapidly received 7 offers, after a full day on the phone and 3 drops out, we still had 4 families willing to foster, this is outstanding and we are so grateful
But it's never that simple! First the best news is we were granted 6 spots on the end of August transport instead of 3, so we can save 3 more lives. This is wonderful and a big scramble!
5 dogs arrived from Okeechobee, the 3 you saw, a little shepherd mix and a sweet little wire hair terrier. 2 more are coming soon. Yes, that is 7
The adorable little white dog most likely won't make it to transport as we found out he has a severe breathing issue that is being investigated right now. See Video below. We are hoping for answers at the beginning of the week and praying it is nothing huge. He is currently in foster with Laura who is taking great care of him.
Maureen is fostering the little brown dog, and Debra is fostering the 4th dog, the shepherd mix. Sandy is on her way right now to take the black dog home.
Sorry, it's easy to get lost in that.
Bottom line, we need 2 more foster homes. We don't know if the dogs are housebroken or not, cat friendly or not, we only know they are fully vaccinated, on flea and tick prevention, and friendly with people and other dogs.

This old and very loving dog needs a home where he can find peace and warmth for the rest of his days. Samurai’s story is near and dear to our hearts. We love this boy so much and he deserves to leave the kennel for a home. For the last 2 years, Samurai has been in a foster home, and he was very happy there, but his family moved out of town, and he is back in the kennels and very sad. Samurai is 11 years old now. He’s a beautiful Boxer/Pitt mix and around 75lbs of pure LOVE. He loves every human he meets and is great with kids. He has an amazing adoring personality and is a staff favorite for his calm and sweet demeanor. Samurai’s favorite thing is his toys! He loves to play fetch, but for an older boy, he can’t do much of it before he needs to take a nap. Samurai is very affectionate so if you’re looking for a companion to cuddle up with, he is perfect! The only reason we have had a hard time placing Samurai is that he needs to be the only dog in the home, other than that, he’s perfect!❤️If you are interested in adopting or fostering this precious boy please fill out the application at www.nalasrescue.orgWe are open to different options, and with an approved application, you can take him home as a foster, and decide later. He also qualifies for our Senior for Senior program. You can always help Samurai by sharing his post, it is so hard for older dogs to find a new home 💙..#ruffpetrescue #nalasrescue #tcpalm #adoptinpalmcity #palmcityflorida #seniordogs #seniordogsrock #rescuedog #rescuedogsofinstagram #availablenow #adoptashelterpet #dogsofinstagram #dog #pittiesofinstagram #ruffpet #senior #dogsoffacebook #dogsarebabies #rescue #dogrescue #shelter #adoptdontshop

Adoption Process and fees
When you first contact us to adopt a dog, you will be asked to fill out and submit an application on our website at nalasrescue.org/adoption-application
The application will be reviewed by the members of our adoption committee to ensure that the family will be able to match the dog or cat’s needs, and that we can move forward to a safe and happy adoption. The first thing we do after receiving an application is to check vet references (if available) and personal references (if there is no vet reference).
If the references check out, you will be contacted for a meet and greet with the dog or cat you applied for. Please come with an open mind. You might meet more dogs and cats, and who knows where the perfect connection will be?
If the meet and greet goes well, we then conduct a home visit with all your household members, humans and pets, and if the home visit goes well, we’ll be ready to finalize the adoption.
Adoption fees for most dogs is $150.00 and for cats is $60.00. For puppies, some small breeds and some purebreds, the fee is $350. Some exceptions may apply for hard-to-place animals. Ask us, please. A donation on top of the adoption fee is always appreciated if you can as adoption fees do not cover the cost of vetting and caring for our dogs until adoption.
The adoption contract states that if for any reason, you cannot care for your adopted pet anymore, you are to contact us and organize return to our organization. Adopted pets may not be re-homed without Nala’s Rescue’s approval.
