Meet Mater, a 15 month old German Shepherd/ Malanois Mix. He is full of energy and LOVE!!!! He came into our shelter because he was roaming and owner was not caring for him properly, he was under weight and had untreated Lyme disease.
Now he is neutered, up to date on his vaccines and desperately wants to go to a home. Can you believe that he hasn't had one application dropped off for him!!!!! He loves other dogs, kids and even cats! Contact the East Haven Animal Shelter at 203-468-3249.

Tony is still available for adoption.
Great Pyrenees - 7 years old - neutered - up to date on vaccines.
We know that one of these days the right person will see his post and he will go to his forever home. 🙂

What we require of his new home…

•Secure 6 foot fenced yard.
•No children
•A household that is low key, without a lot of people in and out. Tony will have to be secured in another room when there are visitors.
•Previous livestock guardian dog experience

What Tony requires…
•Multiple meet and greets with potential adopters as he is a LGD and protective by nature .
•No children due to his lunging behavior
•Tony currently has a small breed friend that he lives with at his foster home so a submissive smaller dog may be ok. Tony does have some resource guarding tendencies so there will be some restrictions to manage that.

Tony loves to be outside in the yard watching over his property. Tony is not a farm dog however, he has never slept outside and prefers the comfort of his bed. He loves affection and will sit by your side and nudge you when he feels it’s time for another snuggle or a scratch behind the ear. He loves treats ! He is a sweet, loving, loyal dog.

What a wonderful testimony to the human spirit. Over 40 dogs from municipal pounds and rescues were adopted this weekend. There are a few stragglers going back home but we did good and we would like to extend the biggest thank you to Westbrook Outlets for their generosity in donating the space for our event. There were lots of happy dogs and families this weekend.
