Just a quick update from me- I'm currently in the process of renewing my CPR and First Aid certification, for dogs and Cats, through Pet Sitters International! 🐕🐈 It's a bit pricier and more extensive than my previous certification, but it's totally worth it to ensure that I'm always prepared for any situation that may come up with your beloved fur babies! 💞

It's international cat day! Anything can happen when pets are left alone—and cats are no exception. From potentially lethal ailments like urinary blockages to potential home damages from a cat accidentally loosening a water hose behind a washing machine, not having your pet sitter check on your cat daily while you're away can have costly—or tragic—consequences. Plus, your cat needs daily attention and interaction as well!

4th of July is a fun day for many people. However, for some people and most animals, it is a high anxiety inducing day. If your pets suffer from anxiety due to fireworks, consider speaking with your veterinarian to see if anti-anxiety medication during the 4th is a good option for your pet.
Other helpful tips:
-Create a safe space. Provide a quiet, comfortable place for your dog to retreat to, such as a crate, den, puppy pen, or bedroom.
-Comfort your dog. Comforting your dog doesn't reinforce their fear, and in fact, studies show that it can lower their heart rate. You can try talking to them in a soothing tone, petting them, or giving them treats.
-Use calming aids. You can try using a weighted blanket or compression vest, like a ThunderShirt, to apply gentle pressure and reduce anxiety. You can also try giving your dog calming supplements.
-Stay with your dog or have someone dog-sit so they don't feel alone. If you do take your dog out, keep them on a leash and far away from the fireworks.

Ever go to an amusement park in the hot weather and walk through the mist from a misting machine? Didn’t it feel great!? You can do that for your horses and hobby farm pets too! Don't let the heat get your horses and hobby farm pets down! A simple and effective solution is to set up a misting hose in a shaded spot, providing them with a cooling retreat. Your horses and hobby farm pets will love you for it, and you'll love seeing them happy and comfortable!
I used to hang them in a tree in the pasture for my horses with mist during the hottest parts of the day. They loved it!
They are easy to find online.
