Leg Banding birds.
Although not required by law in Canada, ethical breeders will "band" their offspring with closed-bands. This process is an integral part of any breeding program for several reasons.
It is a non-invasive method of establishing individual identification of each bird. It can provides information on year of birth as well as breeder information. Every band contains unique digits and information which identifies each bird accurately.
