Life’s Abundance has never had a recall.
However, currently there is a recall for these dog food brands:

Three months after Midwestern Pet Foods recalled some of its products because of a risk of aflatoxin poisoning, the company is pulling dozens more of its pet foods off the shelves. The concern this time is salmonella.
Food with corn in the ingredients can harbor mold.
The FDA reported that a competing brand issued a voluntarily recall of dry dog and cat food due to potentially fatal levels of aflatoxin.

Onions are dangerous to dogs!
We wanted to give everyone an update on Lightning, who was hospitalized for a few days in our ICU about 2.5 months ago. Originally, he was brought in to see us after some GI upset and painful abdomen. Dr. Eisenhour also noticed during her exam that Lightning had yellowish/tan gums, which is indicative of onion toxicity. His owner remembered that Lightning had eaten a couple of pieces of meatloaf that contained diced onion the previous day. Onions (and garlic) are very dangerous to both cats and dogs, with only a few pieces affecting small pets - it can lead to anemia, organ failure and possibly death. Lightning was hospitalized with IV fluids and medications and recovered very well. He has been in for a few rechecks since then and all have been great!!
With the holiday dinners being served over the next few weeks, please keep in mind that onions and garlic are toxic to pets so to be safe do not feed your pet table scraps. No matter how much they beg! And if your pet begins to exhibit ANY abnormal symptoms, bring them in to be examined by a veterinarian. Minutes matter when it comes to their recovery from toxin ingestion.
Xylitol is extremely dangerous to dogs! It is in many candies and gums.
Please instruct your family to be careful and do not leave the gum or candies where your pet can get it.

Many sugarless gums (including some Trident, Orbit, and Ice Breaker brands) and candies contain xylitol, a sweetener which is toxic to dogs. Beware of those desserts or baked goods that could also be made with xylitol! Even small amounts ingested can result in a life-threatening drop in blood sugar,...

A hot summer evening in Wilmington was made a little cooler for three dogs when their loving owners brought them to a nearby pond to play and swim Thursday night. Just hours later all three dogs were dead, their owner’s lives now shattered.

Attention!
The FDA has issued new pet food recalls. Nutrisca, Orlando, and Natural Life.
This does NOT involve Life’s Abundance.
The FDA has announced a voluntary recall of two dry dog foods due to a formulation error that led to excess levels of vitamin D. The recalled foods are Natural Life Pet Products Chicken & Potato Dry Dog Food and Nutrisca Chicken and Chickpea Dry Dog Food.
Signs of elevated vitamin D levels can include vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling and weight loss. The FDA says that at very high levels, excess vitamin D can lead to more serious conditions including renal dysfunction.
Pet consumers should discontinue feeding these foods and dispose of recalled products.
For more information on the best buy dates, codes and distribution of these recalled products, go to the FDA web pages: Nutrisca and Natural Life Pet Products.

I am so impressed with this brilliant dog! ❤️
Not photography related BUT so important I had to share, hoping it might help save another pup. We returned home to find that our sweet, Bella (dog on the left) who is the most perfect rescue dog on earth and is near the end of her life SAVED the life of our puppy (Ruby on the right). Ruby’s collar somehow got caught in the wall of her kennel and Bella (who is never kenneled) chewed thru the collar from the outside of the kennel to free Ruby from choking to death. I am now aware of the danger of the collar getting stuck on the wire kennels that from now on collars will be removed every time they are kenneled.
