With the numbers of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 on the rise, it is import everyone in our community take the necessary precautions in their preparedness plans in caring for themselves and their pets.
TLC is recommending to stay diligent in social distancing and preparedness plans, but not overreacting to COVID-19 concerns.
The World Small Animal Veterinary Association states that there is no evidence that companion animals can be infected with or spread COVID-19. This is also the view of the World Health Organization.
As this is a rapidly evolving situation, people feeling ill and with confirmed COVID-19 should avoid contact with other people as well as thier pets.
Ten Lives Club joins the Humane Society of the United States and The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement in suggesting community members create a preparedness plan that includes their pets in the event their households are impacted by the virus that causes COVID-19. In addition to preparations typically recommended for any natural disaster threat, individuals with pets should identify family members or friends to care for pets if someone in the household comes ill and is hospitalized.
At this time TLC is asking for your help in limiting the number of people coming through the shelter and offsite locations for the immediate future.
There are still wonderful cats in need of loving homes at our main shelter and offsite locations, so visit our website (instead of actual locations) to see cats available for adoption. We are working to get pictures for all cats on the website. We will be continuing adoptions by appointment only at this time. If you are interested in adopting a cat, please fill out the online adoption application attached to the cat's online listing or email [email protected] or at (716) 646-5577 x104
If you need to surrender a cat, please contact us first at 716-646-5577 x102
We are limiting animal intake to prioritize emergency situations and help the neediest cats first.
If you would like to help from the comfort of your own home, You can send litter, canned pate' food or make a monetary donation (https://www.tenlivesclub.com/donate) to support our continued operations or if you have any other questions, please contact us by email or at (716)646-5577
As always, TLC is regularly sanitized for the prevention of disease. We will continue to maintain this standard and increase cleaning protocols for public spaces as needed..
We’d like to thank everyone for your continued support of cats in need. Ten Lives Club remains committed to serving the cats and people in our community, and looks forward to when we can resume full services once again. We wish you all good health during this time.
