🐕If your dog *likes* other dogs and you want him/her to say hi to another dog, ask the person if their dog *likes* dogs. If they say "Yes!" you can let the dogs meet for no more than 1-2 min with LOOSE leashes.

🐕Dogs greet each other best by sniffing head to tail and they need loose leashes to do that. Tight leashes, like in the image, can prevent appropriate greetings and cause issues between the dogs.

Please watch for heavy panting 👅and provide plenty of cool water 💦 and shade.

It's HOT out there! ☀️ 🔥 Please be cautious about having your dog accompany you to outdoor events (especially if they are on pavement!) and be sure they have lots of shade and fresh water when they do need to be outside. Do you know how to recognize signs of heat stroke in dogs?

If you observe these signs, get your dog out of the heat and to a veterinarian immediately - heat stroke can escalate fast!

🐶 You can take advantage of early morning or later day when it's cooler, as well as walking your dog on grass.

Our Story

Private dog manners training and/or behavior problem resolution in your home and online in the Columbus, Ohio area. Private, in-home or live, online Zoom sessions to teach any cues you’d like your dog to learn like Sit, Down, Come, Leave it, Settle on a mat, etc. You can receive help with house training or crate training, jumping up, destructive chewing, mouthing/nipping, excessive barking or pulling on leash. You can also receive help for your dog’s fearfulness, which can include growling or snapping at people or dogs or lunging and barking on leash. Other issues addressed include separation anxiety and resource guarding.

Janel Biglin, the owner, is a lifelong animal lover and has been working full-time, professionally in dog training and behavior since 2002. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and uses learning theory to train dogs efficiently and effectively. Janel also played an important role in the Behavior and Training departments of three animal shelters in Columbus and San Diego. Her training philosophy is to use only force-free, positive, reward-based methods that are as fun for humans as they are for dogs. She will work with you and your family to help you have dogs you will enjoy!
