Hello to all of you, my wonderful, kind, valued clients.

I have some very big news.

I will be moving out of state in about 3 to 4 weeks. I am sad that I won't be able to be your petsitter any longer. I will miss your furkids! But I am also very excited about this new chapter in my life.

It has been a joy and a labor of love to serve you and your sweet pets. I have 17 years of fantastic memories to treasure. Thankfully my heart has unlimited space for all those priceless moments.

So many are in this spot right now, hoping their savings will sustain. I must believe that we will be okay. Storms will come and go, so hunker down. I am touched by the stories about all the beautiful ways people are helping people. Our character is revealed when we navigate a hardship. Often we emerge stronger from it. So beautiful!! I can't wait to be reunited with all the sweet animals who have blessed me with their love and companionship. Oh the overwhelming joy! To hold my beloved dogs and cats, plus the dozens and dozens of client pets.. they have all taken a little piece of my heart with them. Better reserve a huge cloud to fit them all.

One of the conversations I enjoy most with the patients I visit is about the visions they see. The other day I was with a gentleman who shared that he has been seeing people in his room, mostly men. He is not afraid of them, they seem like they are there to help him feel less alone.

I asked if he talked to them; he told me he didn't know what to say, so we discussed things he could ask them. He asked me if this meant he was dying soon. My response was that while yes... he is dying, I did not believe they are representative of the time frame. I told him I thought that maybe being near death allowed him to be more receptive to their presence and they knew that, which is why they were there. This seemed an acceptable answer to him.

I saw him again the following day and he told me that he started to talk to them, they didn't say words, but he felt their answers, one of which was that he was safe and not to be afraid, which he welcomed. Then he proceeded to tell me that his two dogs who had passed away came to see him. A tear rolled down his cheek. He said they jumped on his bed and curled up next to him.

I would like to think that when I am near death, my dog Jack will curl up next to me...

Here is a sketch one of my students gave me. I think she depicted my love for animals quite nicely. Thank you, Sasha! You're a talented artist!

Some of you know I am a tutor, in addition to a pet sitter. Yep, turns out those 4 years of college back in the 80s were not only loads of fun, but pretty useful as well. The State of Ohio actually gave me a piece of paper which said I am Certified to teach English grades 6 - 12.

Having done some classroom teaching, I have discovered I most enjoy teaching one-on-one.

Parents of younger home-schooled children (any subject) are always welcomed also!

I've recently listed my services on Care dot com, to bring in a few more clients.

Border collies Das, Summer and Olivia were outfitted with special backpacks brimming with seeds. Then they were sent on a mission, let loose to race through the ruined forests. As they bounded and darted, their packs streamed a trickle of seeds. The hope is that these seeds will take root and sprout, bringing the forest slowly back to life one tree at a time.
