Lady has been training Christine for a month and will continue to do so free of charge for her foster or adopter. ***URGENT: Available for Adoption, Foster or Foster-to-Adopt***

Special Needs: Deaf
Location: Charlotte/Lake Norman area, NC

Christine is low to moderate energy. She checks in well, and does well with distractions such as dogs, humans, bikes and cars while outside the home. She chooses to ignore most distractions instead of engaging. She knows the signs for Potty, Place, Sit, Down, Walk, Come, Eat, Stop and Go so far. Anyone who fosters or adopts her will have access to her trainer free of charge for the rest of her life.

Christine is fully crate trained, potty trained, walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She is shy but very smart and wants to please. She has had several transitions in her short life, so she needs help building her confidence. She has some social anxiety and is reserved when meeting new people, but does take treats willingly, and is very treat motivated. Because Christine is deaf, she has a startle response. Anyone who fosters or adopts her would need to be aware of this, and will need to be committed to making sure she feels safe. Her trainer will teach you how to approach her, and how to wake her up without scaring her. Christine likes to cuddle and be ON you! 😂🩷.

Christine would do best in a calm home without small children or other pets. NO cats. An extremely low energy dog may be possible with proper introduction and decompression. She is not interested in playing with dogs. Older children are negotiable as well as long as your child is mature and willing to learn how to interact with Christine in a way that is respectful to her disability. Her trainer will guide anyone interested in fostering or adopting through the process.

Please do not let the fact that Christine is “special needs” (deaf) scare you. She has picked up very quickly with signing and you only need to learn a few signals. She is very loving, playful and smart.

Christine needs to be PLACED NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 18th.

Please reach out by submitting an application via our website.
