On behalf of the Barczyk family and our entire team at The Reptarium, it is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Brian Barczyk.

More than the guiding light of our organization, Brian's fervent passion for reptiles and wildlife, along with his steadfast dedication to education, has touched innumerable hearts and minds globally.

Our deepest sympathies are with Brian's family, his friends, and all those whose lives he has touched. We've lost an exceptional individual – a visionary, mentor, and friend. For those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, Brian's absence leaves an immeasurable void.
As we navigate this difficult time, we find comfort in the memories and the lasting light of Brian's work. He will be deeply missed but indeed, never forgotten.

The Barczyk family invites you to join us for a Public Memorial Walk-through to honor Brian’s memory. The event will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Heritage Church, located at 44625 Schoenherr Rd. Sterling Heights, MI 48313 from 1-3pm.

Juniper’s babies are starting to come out!

We’ll snap more pictures once they are all out, but here’s the first little one.

Halfway through incubation on Juniper’s clutch, and all 6 eggs are doing great! Keep an eye out next month for the babies.

We’ve got two big females looking like they’ll be ovulating soon, and two more that have been breeding quite well.

Looks like we’re going to have a productive year!

Juniper gave us 6 gorgeous eggs, due to hatch in early May! Keep checking back for updates, as this clutch has a chance at giving us blue eyed leucistics!

Tierah’s clutch is hatching! So far it looks like 1 Fire, 2 Pastels, and 3 Fireflies. We won’t be able to tell for sure until they all shed out, but they’re looking great!

For those of you who may not know, Selkie has finally laid her clutch.

However, the news is bittersweet. She laid one slug, and four other eggs. Three of those WERE fertile, but have since died. This is just how breeding goes sometimes. You win some, you lose some.

The last egg is still going strong, so keep your hopes up for that little one! Due to hatch in late August.

Selkie here is due to lay a clutch sometime around the first week of July!

Any guesses as to how many she's got? We're not looking at just fertile eggs for this, but total eggs.

The first person to guess the exact number of eggs (no more, no less) will get $15 credit with us. The winner can put it towards anything we sell, no expiration date!

Guesses may be commented until we reach ten people, or when Selkie lays the clutch. Whichever comes first. No editing your guess!! We will see if the comment was edited, and you will be disqualified.

We have our first clutch of the season! Juniper’s first clutch. 7 fertile eggs, no slugs! She is a Butterfly (Butter Fire Pastel). She had two different males with her, but we only witnessed locks from Tibbers (single gene Fire). The other male is a young, unproven Butterbee (Butter Spider).

This girl did amazing, and we are excited to see her first babies in another 2 months!

We are very excited to see Tierah putting on weight. She's getting huge! It's only her second year of breeding, but last year she gave us 5 healthy babies, including a STUNNING Super Fire male (which we held back for future breeding).

She's been consistently locking with the same male as last year, and is getting bigger than she did last season. We're hoping for some more Super Fires.

Before we started breeding her this year, she weighed in at just over 1,800 grams. Now, she's a whopping 2,457 grams!

Keep your fingers crossed for a nice healthy clutch of eggs in the near future!

Another lock for Tibbers with a first-time female! This boy is putting in some work this year. Let's hope this girl gives us some eggs; she's our best shot at more Super Fires!
