Another difficult decision I wish I didn't have to make. Citrus is a young senior buck who's done well showing for me, but I have his two brothers who I like more. This is almost definitely a decision I'll pretty heavily regret. I'm pretty positive he's a false dwarf. He's not cheap and I won't be upset having another cute SSB on my show team, but I feel bad not using him.

This is one of the hardest posts I've made. Kid was one of my first show rabbits and has made some gorgeous babies for me, but I need to downsize and he's just not going to help take my herd in the direction I want it to go. He's a smaller buck. He is not cheap and I will not be upset if he stays.

Heart of New York 2023
This is the last show of the year for me, and an extra bittersweet show as well. I made the difficult decision to retire CRR Misty after Grand Finals. I brought her out for one last hurrah, and she went out with a bang!
I am so, so proud to announce that CRR Misty won RIS show B under Mike Ross!!! I don't cry tears of happiness, but this was the closest I've ever been. Show A, Kevin got a second look for BIS under Corey Hayes.

I decided to enter my 8 week old BJB, Vegas, in show B on a whim, and his very first time on a table, he won BOV over beautiful senior bucks!! And he's a broken Sable Point, at that!

I ran the youth showmanship and knowledge contests. Safe to say I feel pretty good about the future of the hobby after today!
My 2023 Convention animals that can hitch a ride to elsewhere in the country! All but one Holland Lop SJB are entered under my name.
I have a variety of animals available, both Holland Lops and Netherland Dwarfs. Two are not pictured here, one because she is molting and the other because I was planning on keeping him.
3 Holland Lop Black Tort SJBs from my shaded project. All sired by RIS GC eligible CRR Kevin (now at 12 or 13 legs). The first has my lines and is the littermate of my open BIS winner. The other two have LOL and west coast lines. Only two are pictured here. I will be adding pictures of the third. All three are brood only due to minor injuries as kits.
Holland Lop Black Fox SJB. False dwarf, but still well balanced and with an excellent body. Not asking as much for him. He is closely related to CRR Misty (10ish legs; 5th place SSD at youth Nationals 2023) on his sire's side, and they have the same mother.
Holland Lop Black Tort SSD. 2 legs. Proven. This doe is past her show career and sits at 4 lbs 1 oz. She produced my open Best in Show winner, Dusty. I am ONLY offering her because I'm keeping two of her daughters and her sister.
2 Chestnut Netherland Dwarf Junior Bucks. Both were sired by a past Convention youth BOV Lynx winner. Their mothers were REW from a tan pattern and self background. I simply want to keep this project small and REW focused.
2 REW Netherland Dwarf Senior Does. One is proven, the other is not. I simply haven't had space to breed the unproven doe, and she is young at 8 months old. The proven doe is not pictured here, as she's in a horrible molt; however, she is the mother of Anarchy, who earned a BOSB leg through extremely limited showing.
All senior does can be bred before they leave.

Erie Canal shows today!
I won my very first ARBA RIS...and then another!!! CRR Problem Child, my New Zealand White junior doe, won RIS in youth show A under Steven Buell. CRR Kevin, the infamous, poorly behaved tort senior buck, won RIS in youth show C under Mark Fiorentino. To say I was excited is an understatement!!! I was absolutely in shock. Thank you to the judges for recognizing my animals!!

NYS Fair 2023 is a wrap!!
Country Road Rabbitry was well represented, taking home Best and Best Opposite Holland Lop, American Fuzzy Lop, and New Zealand in the youth show. I also won BOV and BOSV Chestnut Netherland Dwarf.
In the Decathlon, I was 1st place senior in both the Cavy and Rabbit divisions, as well as a member of the 1st place senior cavy team and 2nd place senior rabbit team.
