At recent mantrailing sessions I've been collecting moss , pinecone and gnarly wood for those of you who were wondering why. Gingerbread gnome and fairy Christmas Village is now complete and up for Christmas. If I don't see you at the social walks see you all next year and I hope you all have a wonderful Merry Christmas

Christmas Social Walks

Sunday 22 December Cann Woods 9am meet up this is roughly a 2 hour circular walk with one long hill

Friday 27 Lanhydrock boundary walk again this is at least 2 hours with a hill and there is also parking charges 9am meet up periods of dogs definitely having to be on leads

Sunday 29 The Clay pipe circular walk from Clapper bridge to Shaugh Prior fantastic view and some sheep ( dogs will be on leads for periods of time) 10 am start 2hr + and would suggest bringing a flask and a chocolate bar to have when we reach the view point at the top of the very long hill. This walk is not suitable for anyone with poor balance as footing can be uneven and slippy in place

Tregantle Beach 2nd January again a hill to climb back don't know start time depends on the tides but will be aiming for low tide. Parking fees

Anyone is welcome to come with me but please let me know which you'd like to attend please be aware that both you and your dog will need to be able to walk for at least 2hr and make it up hills and occasional bad footing. Your dog must be ok with multiple dogs around them either on or off the lead and be ok on and off the lead themselves. If we have large groups of dogs we will probably stagger letting off depending on who attends.

January puppy course I have had an influx of enquiries about the 1st 2025 course some of you have already booked and paid for your slot and others are understandably waiting until after Christmas. But can I ask you to please send me confirmation that you definitely want a place please even if you don't want to pay right now. As if the course is over subscribed I can run two concurrent course starting the same day but one set at 5pm and the other at 7pm but I need to know the numbers to make sure that this is viable. Thanks and Merry Christmas

Over the Christmas break I wont be holding classes as usual. But this year I thought I might suggest a few social walks over this time these will just be social get togethers not training or lifeskills. With possibly a small voluntary donation to a charity but no actual monetary cost.
dogs must be able to go on a longer walk cope with multiple dogs and be happy to walk both on and off the lead when appropriate!

there will be four dates and four different walks over the xmas period.
The large circular walks
at Lanhydrock
The clay pipe from Clapper bridge to Shaugh Prior
Cann Woods
and also a walk at Tregantle beach

LAST PUPPY COURSE OF THE YEAR
Starting 16th November 5pm at The Core .
This is a 12 week course covering 6 weeks foundation behaviours and 6 weeks practical life skills. Total cost is £132.
Due to Christmas this course schedule will be slightly different and have a break for the holidays
16th November 4 weeks at The Core 6pm
14th December lifeskills session 10am at at Churchtown
Christmas break
4th January 5pm at The Core for two weeks
18th January back to Churchtown for 5 weeks of lifeskills

Lovely morning mantrailing lovely work from a pack of Beagles the youngsters getting the hang of the game and the older trio doing fantastic delayed trails. Awesome trailwork and even better off trailing behaviour from Husky x Magnus who has gone from a reactive dog when I first met him to trailing maestro and then a fantastic chilled out boy hang out watching a super busy carpark people dogs bikes and wandering ponies Beatriz you should be super proud of yourself and your boy! Also have to say a hugh thank you to my long suffering mum who came out to be an extra misper and puppy sitter as yes Myrtle came with the big dogs to supervise the trailing and having a short little toodle on the Moor must say she was a little star following the older dogs lead and just settling into watch the world go by

She's home and settling in incredibly well couldn't make up my mind on her name so did a blind draw and the winning name was Myrtle

As most of you know I'm in the process of becoming an International Trail Hunt Instructor. So I am working through the course with Merryn as well as videoing me teaching a couple of my clients for my assessments as well. This is exercise 10. A 20: 2 trail, that's 20 meter straight line then a 90° turn walk 2 metres then place the trail pod. As you can see Merryn and I are loving this game. Can't wait to be able to offer this great sport to you all!!!!

A little about me

I am a local dog trainer with a degree in Dog training and Behaviour, I am also a qualified instructor for Mantrailing Uk, Wag it Games and Real Dog Yoga as well as having scores of other training qualifications and years of experience. I offer a number of different classes, courses and workshops as well as 121 as requested.

I have four dogs which I train to do a number of sports, including mantrailing, scentwork, obedience, dog ball and gundog work and have also trained dogs for agility and hoopers
