Green Urban Paddle As a young country boy, I fell in love with nature, kayaking and design. As a professional geek, I continued that love in the city and after my wife died -

Who is the Greatest? – Green Urban Paddle

Watching my Hailey play volleyball inspired me to what something related to a core principle of BRG Street Community. The thing is Hailey just gets it and believes it and yet many would think, including her father, that she is the proof that the opposite is true.

Who is the Greatest? Sep15 Montell I was raised to believe that all humans start out equal and the difference between good men and evil men is how they choose to use what has been given to them. Good men gain value over time by doing good deeds. And over time evil men become more evil as they contin...

Unexpected Break – During an Eventful Summer – Green Urban Paddle

Sorry for the delay in new posts but we had a good summer. More to come.

Unexpected Break – During an Eventful Summer Sep 14 Montell This summer has been very busy and very rewarding for me. I have definitely taken a corner in my life. It will be a little while still before this corner starts to make sense. I am still having to work some wording issues with the business…

7 Years Ago, She Left Us. – Green Urban Paddle

It has been 7 Years since Kathy passed away. This weekend Hailey becomes a high school Senior and this week has been a good week but June 2 is never a good day.

I wrote this for Kathy's memorial service. Kathy was my wife for 20 years and passed away on June 2, 2010.

Most of what I do is facts and figures; however, Kathy was never just and idea or an equation. From the very early parts of our friendship, even before we started dating, Kathy made the world and the people in it come alive for me. She became the glue that held my life together; the inspiration for…

It will one year tomorrow (June 1st) and BRG will have a special meeting remembering Karla and why the BRG Street Community project was important to her. PM, Text, or email me for…

The Reality of Fairy Tales – Green Urban Paddle

This is a core concept for me. It is the one thing that I believe can bring peace to the human race.

I do not care what household you were brought up in. If it was a household or not a household. If it was a loving or abusive household. If it was very worldly household or if it was very religious household. If it was an orthodox or progressive household. In all cases, you were told fairy tales, myt...

What to Start With >> Full of Fun – Green Urban Paddle

What subject(s) should we cover first here on this blog? Where is there a smart place to start? There are many experts out there that have already covered a lot of material on the topics we want to cover. So where should we start? What would be an interesting and possibly fresh place to start? Does…

Happy Birthday Isabelle – April 27, 2017 – Green Urban Paddle

Sometimes the best place to start a story is in the middle. Especial when you are sitting down to write and you are stumped at what to say. A very important date in the middle of my story is April 27, 1995. It was a birth, a time to move forward in hope. It was a promise of great value. It was a bea...

Happy Earth Day – Green Urban Paddle

Happy Earth Day

Video by Atom Garst Biggs

Environmentalism has always been simple for me. You cannot live life to the fullest when you degrade, diminishing, or depleting something to do so. You cannot gain by taking. You can share, use, and develop but you must take accountability for the cost involved in doing so and pay it back, pay it fo...

Draft: Launching Paddles – Green Urban Paddle

The video at the end is very quiet and absolutely peaceful.

Please share

There are a lot of expert articles and how to guides on kayaking and I am sure in time we will post some kayaking tips and links here in this blog. But one of the things you need know first as an urban or a country kayaker has very little to do with the boat or the water. It has everything to do wit...
