Assisting rescues in saving in need pets from Rockhampton AMC - Please note we are NOT the pound. Vaccinations help ensure your own pet is protected.

There are pledge pages that help with the cost of transport and the admin who run the pages do a fabulous job at helping getting animals all over Australia, so getting an animal anywhere is not an issue. Years ago the public were permitted to go to the pound and take an animal to give it a home. The problem they found is that most of the animals did not get desexed and months later were contributing to the masses of unwanted animals of the region. They started only releasing the animals to rescue groups to ensure they will be desexed, vaccinated etc to try and stop the cycle. Each animal is listed individually with their info. We can only report what information we have been given by the AMC staff. Sometimes we do not know if they are good with other animals, if they jump fences, are good with kids etc - but if we do know we will put it in the animals notes on the page. If you have any questions please message us and we will try and help where we can. Please remember we are volunteers and have jobs, kids, lives outside of our attempt to help here. ❌❌🆘🆘 SUPER CRITICAL🆘🆘❌❌

THESE 3 POOCHES HAVE SPENT THE LAST 3 MONTHS AT THE AMC (POUND). THEY NEED TO HAVE A SAVE URGENTLY. THEY ARE ALL ONLY YOUNG DOGS.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET ABOUT THEM. THEY DESERVE A LOVING HOME WITH A NICE BIG YARD TO RUN AROUND IN, INSTEAD OF BEING STUCK IN A CAGE.

38314 (F) This puppa is around 10 months old, she has been tested with other dogs and will happily play along with them, she needs some basic training.

38321 (M) This is Simba ‑ he is 10m old. He is a very good jumper and will need a fence taller than 1.5m. He has been tested with other dogs and shows no aggression. He is very playful.

38354 (M) This lil man's name is Bear. He is about 2 years old and is very friendly. He loves making new friends and would be the perfect addition to any family.

🆘🆘CRITICAL🆘🆘FINAL PLEA 🆘🆘

These animals need to be out of the Animal Management Centre (pound) as soon as possible. They are in critical need of a save.

NOTES:
38314 (F) This puppa is around 10 months old, she has been tested with other dogs and will happily play along with them, she needs some basic training.

38536 (F) This girl is microchipped and vaccinated. She has had a rough life prior to coming into the Animal Management Centre and we have looked after her as best we can. She is still on medication and is likely to require further veterinary care.

38583 (M) This happy go lucky young fella is full of energy and enthusiasm. Always ready for adventure, often wagging his tail and showing off his playful spirit. He is microchipped and vaccinated.

38584 (M) A really cute guy, he is full of charm and affection. His stocky build and big soulful eyes make him impossible to resist. His goofy personality and loyal heart make him an absolute delight to be around. He has been microchipped and vaccinated since arriving at the AMC.

38594 (F) This little girl is quiet/timid to start with, but with some love and time she comes around and will be your best friend. She has been tested with other dogs and is friendly. She is roughly 10 months old.

38614 (F) Gentle young female dog seeking a kind and patient home. Shy at first but full of love, she just needs time, guidance and lead training to thrive. She has been vaccinated and microchipped since arriving at the AMC.

38617 (M) Young male dog, shy but sweet, looking for a patient owner. Needs lead training and confidence building. He has been vaccinated and microchipped since arriving at the AMC.

38619 (F) This young girl is timid and is looking for a patient home. She needs a lot of lead training but has a gentle nature and lots of potential.

38622 (F) Sweet young female dog looking for a calm and patient home. A little shy but eager to learn, she just needs gentle guidance and love to build her confidence. She has been vaccinated and microchipped since arriving at the AMC.

This little old man (approx 9) is ready to be sent to a retirement home. He is on quite a few medications for his poor condition teeth and skin conditions. He would desperately like to live out the rest of his life on the couch, snuggled up to his human. This pooch has been vaccinated and microchipped, however please be advised he will need further vet treatment upon release to rescue due to his poor teethy pegs and skin condition.

38472 (F) This girl is around 8 months old, she has been happy chilling out in her cage just waiting on her forever home. Can someone please have this girl out ASAP.

38314 (F) This puppa is around 10 months old, she has been tested with other dogs and will happily play along with them, she needs some basic training.

38511 (M) When tested with other dogs this guy had a low soft waging tail and was a little unsure but easily warmed up and didn’t show the slightest bit of aggression, he is around a year or two old.

38428 (F) Hey all, I am full of beans and roughly one or two years old. I need some standard training and get along with other dogs fine.

Our Story

This page is a rescue hub for all the rescue groups that save the animals from Rockhampton AMC. Rockhampton Council issues a list twice a week and rescues are left to pick up the pieces. We assist in finding foster carers or adoptions so these animals can be saved and given a second chance. If you genuinely think you can help, please PM the page so we can assist you. Please note that we HIGHLY suggest your own animals are up to date with vaccinations and preferably desexed. We do not know the vaccination status of most of the animals at the pound. Vaccinations help ensure your own pet is protected.
