Welcome Royce! This guy has recently shown signs of being stiff after playtime, and sometimes struggles to get up after naps. His vet recommended massage and I was so happy to work with him today to address soft tissue tension and work out some kinks. Royce was all smiles after his session and I’m so grateful to be part of his care team. Can’t wait to help keep Royce feeling 8 years young ❤️

Oh hey! Got to see my buddy today. Tripods for the win.

Dogs are the most resilient creatures, and losing a limb often doesn’t even phase them. But living life on 3 legs can still put a strain on the body. I was so happy to work out some of Miller’s compensatory tension, to keep him ready for his happy and playful days. Love you buddy!

P.S. Miller’s mama runs a small business and makes some pretty awesome pet bandanas. You know that Wellness & Wags is all about supporting woman-owned small businesses. Go check them out at . Her stuff is cute as heck!

I had intended to shout out about Small Business Saturday earlier today, but I got a little tied up spending time with dogs. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

7 years ago I was on the brink of getting my canine massage certification, and I had no clue what Wellness & Wags was yet to become. It was scary to leave a stable corporate career to pursue a dream, but oh that risk was worth it. Working with all of my clients, both past and present, has been such a joy.

So today, a shout out to all my clients and supporters and friends. I am forever grateful to you for building Wellness & Wags along side of me.

Looking for some quick ways to support small businesses you love?
-Engage with their social media. Like, post, comment and share. It affects their algorithms to help be seen
-Refer your friends who may benefit from/enjoy their products and services
-Leave a review - Google, Facebook, etc. This helps new customers find their business and feel confident in engaging their services/purchasing their products

Happy Small Business Saturday, and the biggest thanks to all of you ❤️

Happy 10th birthday, Jackson! So thrilled to help you celebrate your special day 🎉❤️

Adoptable alert! I had a blast at the party today, benefitting my friends at

I enjoyed offering mini massages to many of the dogs that attended, but wanted to spotlight adoptable Zuko. He absolutely adored splashing in the kiddie pool, meeting both human and dog attendees, and clearly, getting some massage time. He is a loving, energetic, and cuddly 4 year old lab mix ready for his forever home.

Let’s talk about the muzzle. For the record, I am for so many reasons, and am proud and respectful of the owners and fosters that take the time and effort to muzzle train their dogs. It is an invaluable skill for dogs to learn. Zuko is an absolute love, but has a tendency to startle easily. So his foster parents committed to muzzle training as a safety precaution. Bravo!

Zuko is ready for a family that will offer fun and lots of love.

Here’s just a few ways muzzle training is beneficial:
-Keeps pups from scavenging and eating scraps and non-food items during their walks
-Ensures safety when you are handling a dog with stress, anxieties or fears, especially when you cannot guarantee that you can control the environment
-Offers safety when treating dogs that are injured and/or in pain, as dogs in that state may be more likely to nip or bite

Muzzles do not equal aggressive dogs. Sending so much hope that Zuko will find his forever home soon ❤️

It was Francie’s first massage today and she nailed the assignment! This senior gal is currently experiencing some general muscle tension and soreness due to arthritis, but she is an active and happy gal. Her mom is integrating massage to help keep her moving and feeling her best. Welcome, cutie!

Thank you for letting me crash the party to offer mini massages. The best kind of Sunday Funday for a canine massage therapist ❤️

Happy 4th birthday to my buddy, Hendrix! Honored to work with this guy monthly, to keep him moving well in his extra active lifestyle, which includes agility, Fast CAT, and scent work.

Long back and short-legged dogs can be prone to injury due to their build. Props to Hendrix’s mom for integrating wellness care early to help keep Hendrix’s body healthy.

I loved getting to celebrate your birthday with you, sweet boy ❤️

I have feelings about the trigger point work today.
-Lottie, as indicated by her facial expression

Miss Lottie loves her massage time but is very expressive during sessions, and always lets me know when we are working some tender spots. I started seeing this beauty last year after a stifle injury, but she is well recovered and we are continuing monthly massages for preventative and wellness care to supplement the monthly PT she also receives. Happy to report she is back to getting the zoomies, and I’m here to make sure it stays that way.

Welcome to massage time Frida, despite your big sister’s opinions. Your parents are so smart for introducing you to therapeutic bodywork early, knowing you have such an active life ahead.

And don’t worry Ainsley, our sessions will still generally be focused mostly on you.

Treats all around for these sweet gals 💕

Hello friends! Please take note that as of the week of March 11, my prices will be increasing. With rising expenses the past few years, this price increase will help me continue to offer in-home services, which I feel is so important in keeping your pet calm and comfortable.

Phone consultations - will always be free!
30 minute session - $70
45 minute session - $95
60 minute session - $110

For those clients I visit outside of my service area (currently the north side of Chicago), travel fees are unchanged and will be added to your session fee.

And get excited! I will soon be adding new wellness services, including at-home laser therapy treatments and later this summer, therapeutic swimming + in-water massage sessions in partnership with . Stay tuned for more details!

Thank you so much for your ongoing support of Wellness & Wags.
