When should you give your dog a treat? 🐶 🦴

DO:
• teach your dog to be patient and work for the treat
• reward them for good behaviour
• put the treat under their nose or within their vision
• opt for healthy treats if you can like carrots (in moderation)

• reward your dog for bad behaviour
• bribe them into doing what they’re told
• give them chocolate
Most dogs lead with their noses, they’re born with the sense of smell first and their sight and sounds come in after 2-3 weeks after birth. Their sense of smell is said to be 30x stronger than a humans, so even opening up a new pack of treats will get them excited, but make sure they’ve earned it first otherwise they’ll mistake bad behaviour as a way of getting a treat 🤦🏻♀️
