Who is Bull Terrier Rescue of Central Florida aka BTRCF?

We are nonprofit breed specific dog rescue in Florida dedicated to rescuing English Bull Terriers & Miniature Bull Terriers from shelters & crisis. We are run soley by volunteers & are an all foster rescue meaning we do not have a facility or shelter to house the dogs we save, so all of our dogs reside in foster homes across the state until they are adopted. Our mission is to rehabilitate the dogs we save medically, behaviorally & emotionally then find them new well-fitting permanent homes so they can live a full, happy safe life where they are loved! Stay tuned as we get all of our paperwork filed so we can get up & running & start taking in dogs! Our team has been rescuing this breed for years & are honored to get to keep saving more! Bolo has had a rough go of it but has been fighting like a champ! He had his stitches removed and continues with his weekly blood tests. So far he has shown great improvement and well on the road to recovery. We have raised a little more than half of what we need to cover his expenses and still need your help. Bolo is now enjoying chicken broth with rice and small chunks of chicken. His kidney values remain normal and his spirits are high. Thank you again to everyone for your generous contributions and sharing of these posts.

Bolo pupdate! Thanks to all for your generosity! Bolo is improving every day but he’s not out of the woods yet. He is receiving antibiotic injections daily and has his blood drawn every 72 hours to check his kidney values. As the snow starts to fall, his bills keep piling up. Please help us help Bolo through contributions and sharing these posts. Again, thank you all so very much.

Guess what? Bolo is heading home! We are so grateful for all of you for your continued support. In true bullie fashion he plowed through 4 surgeries in 7 days to beat the odds! Unfortunately, he left a lot of bills in his wake that have put an incredible financial strain on the BTRVA. Please help us come close to meeting this challenge. Thanks to all of your support and an amazing start to our campaign, its looking like Bolo is improving!

Our tough little guy is finally keeping his food down and had his NG tube removed. He still has a very significant amount of drainage but showing signs of improvement. Unfortunatly due to the location and nature of the surgery he has contracted two bacteria, e-coli and enterococcus. Luckily his kidney values are good so he can handle the strong antibiotics.

Bolo is in good spirits and wants to thank everyone for their continued support, thoughts, and prayers.

Every year we are blessed and full of joy as all of you more than fulfill our wishlist to provide awesome supplies to our fosters in need. This year we have a very urgent request to help offset the rising medical costs for Bolo, a very special 8 year old boy. Bolo has a compulsive disorder where he is compelled to ingest non-food items such as collars, metal, rocks, and other objects. Even with constant supervision he has had to face surgeries in the past. Recently he once again had emergency surgery to remove a blockage but has encountered severe complications resulting in 4 operations in a 7 day period. It is with great sadness we share with you that we lost our dear boy Tank today. He passed peacefully in his daddy’s arms, succumbing to his battle with heart disease at the age of 15. Tank was a very special, happy boy who loved playing ball and touching the hearts of many. For years he was “The face of the BTRVA” acting as the perfect ambassador for the rescue and the breed. We will be forever grateful to have had him in our lives. RIP Tankie. You are such a good boy. We love you. Run free.

Likers, the BTRVA flag is at half-mast today. We bid farewell to Hutch, one of our Bullie Ambassadors, yesterday. Hutch was a heart patient and the beloved doctors and professional staff at CVCA Cardiac Care for Pets, Clifton-Centreville Animal Clinic and Southside Animal Hospital helped us give him the last four quality years of his life. Thank you to all who knew, loved, helped and donated to Hutch’s care during his time with us. We could not do this work without you. Run free at the Bridge, Hutchie. We love you. We miss you. 💔
