Update: REHOMED ❤️
For those of you who don’t know, I did keep one puppy from Koda’s litter, I named her “Milly”.
She was diagnosed with a grade 5/6 heart murmur…which happens in about 5-10% of puppies. The vet gave her 4 years to live; her life could be longer but that is just what the statistics present us with.
I did have a few people reach out to me with their experiences…one lady had a similar diagnosis with her shepherd and she ended up living 14 years.
The vet also recommended that we limit her exercise; this has proven to be very difficult for my family as we are super active. I walk my dogs everyday and bring them to work as I hike around.
Milly is about 5 months old and only about 30lbs, I don’t think she will quite get as big as Koda (65lbs) due to her health condition.
Milly is a very sweet girl, she has stolen my heart. She gets along with all of my dogs and she is so gentle with 2 year old daughter.
She’s house trained and loves to go for little walks to explore.
Despite all of this, I still think Milly would thrive with a retired couple or someone passionate about shepherd rescues.
I feel as though it’s still unfair for me to leave Milly at home alone while my other dogs are with me.
