Congratulations to our very own Dory Rosati on becoming a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator!

As a mom of two young boys and quite a few dogs, she knows how overwhelming it can be to bring home a new baby or navigate the terrible twos—especially when you have furry family members at home too. As a FPPE, Dory is ready to help new families develop customized training and management plans to help everyone feel more relaxed about these new stages of life. It’s never too early to start preparing before baby arrives. And we’re here for ongoing support through the different developmental stages and milestones that you’ll experience as a family.

🐾Why/how did you become a dog trainer?
I began my dog training career in animal shelters. While pursuing my bachelors degree in Animal Behavior, I started working at a local animal shelter and fell in love with bringing families and dogs together.

🐾What made you want to specialize in this niche?
When I was pregnant with my oldest son, I was terrified of how I would navigate life with kids and dogs. Even with my knowledge and experience with dogs and training, I felt overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. I want to help educate new parents so they avoid feeling the same anxiety and fears I did.

🐾Tell us about your hobbies and/or interests:
I love hiking and exploring new places with my kids and dogs.

🐾What is your favorite story or testimony to share about life with dogs and kids?
I love watching my 5-year-old son work with and train our dogs together. He has his own treat pouch, knows how to use a clicker, and loves to teach new tricks. I think back to the new mom who was terrified of introducing a baby to our furry family, and now his bond is something I would have never imagined five years ago.
