Oliver’s Oasis is not yet a 501c3, but that is our goal. Oliver’s Oasis is an Animal Sanctuary located in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC. We are currently home to multiple species of rescue animals ranging from Pigs to dogs to even a rabbit. All of our residents but one are rescues. WE ARE DEDICATED TO RESCUING ABUSED, ABANDONED, UNWANTED AND NEGLECTED PIGS, PROVIDING THEM WITH FOOD, SHE

LTER, HEALTH CARE AND A NURTURING SAFE ENVIRONMENT. We mainly focus on pig rescue, but are able to help network any and all animals in need to help find them good homes.

Praying hard for everyone down in Florida and their pets and rescues. Normally I would always offer for anyone to come here if needed, but we honestly have nothing to offer ourselves now. If anyone does need a safe space for animals and themselves we are here but we still have no water from Helene and won’t for months. We do have access to plenty of water for the animals. There is a house, electric and some WiFi here and there. Whatever we can do!

I have no words right now and thank you just isn’t enough! I still barely have service so I don’t want to throw up a huge post yet, but that post is coming! Today we received a huge load of water, massive first aid kit, food, and life straws among other things from Lara Cooper and her amazing husband Austin. We also got some SERIOUSLY needed items that Ziggy's Refuge Farm Sanctuary coordinated for us. One of those things was EPI PENS for me. The bees/wasps are buzzing like crazy here right now and my pens were expired. Kristina Weiss and I drove around as much as we were able to trying to find a pharmacy that would give me pens, but we got a no from everywhere! Even the hospital I went to when I got stung last year that prescribed my pens said no. Within 24 hours I now have pens which will literally save my life. We also received tarps, propane, hot hands and some yummy snacks! While we were at Sister Kitten drop off spot meeting the fantastic Ernie for the epi pens, we brought the volunteers vegan buffalo sandwiches and a veggie platter. They gave us a bag of pig food which we didn’t even ask for. Much appreciated! My friend Mary Broadwell who has The Critter Collective has been helping supply us with water for the animals from her spring and going back and forth filling up jugs for us so the animals have safe water to drink. Two clients of mine, Rebecca Klein and Jennifer Burnett have both brought over water, food and water jugs for us to keep refilling. My old boss who is not on fb also brought over water for the animals in buckets in his car at the very beginning of all of this. We are so blessed for the people in our lives and so incredibly appreciative of every single one of you! Amazing people doing amazing things!

Hope this posts! Anyone trying to reach me via fb, fb messenger or even text message… my service is HORRIBLE today. I’m sure everyone in Asheville is trying to get back on their phones. I can get on fb but can’t see anything or check messages. Texts are coming through sporadically. We are still okay. We do have some storm damage and some loss that we didn’t realize at first and keeping up on water for the animals has been challenging at best. We do have power back but it isn’t totally stable yet and goes in and out. Better at night it seems. No WiFi. The animals are all still fine, just confused at their limited playtime as we r trying to conserve the water they do have. I can not send or receive pictures and I can’t open links to anything. I want to thank the people that have reached out and helped (I’ll get into all the detail after things calm down a bit). For now, please do not think I am being rude if I don’t respond to messages right away or if you get messages randomly in the middle of the night when I can actually get something out. Love and safety to everyone.

Sassy is clearly VERY excited about the awesome donation we got! Fresh hay, tons of rolled oats and some Feed! Thank you to the wonderful lady in our neighborhood that looked us up and brought it to the piggies!

Somebody is feeling back to 💯! It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride with this young lady. Also, we finally were able to get some background on Miss Sassy! She will be three in August! She was purchased (adopt don’t shop) as an underage baby and was inside for the first year of her life until she got “too big”. Since she wasn’t spayed, she kept getting out of her fencing and the people caring for her were just giving up. The story is still not making sense on who was stabbing her in the face, (neighbor or family member), but that doesn’t even matter now. She is happy and healthy and will be forever loved here!

We would like to thank Bonnie Ann Brown & My Rescued Pigs for including us in their recent fundraiser! With these funds, we will be able to catch up on our feed bill, get some MUCH NEEDED fencing and straw and even be able to open up our foster area again for emergencies once we build a new one! (Pumba took over our last one lol). You are so VERY appreciated for all of the hard work you have done to help us and other sanctuaries/rescues in need.

We would like to thank everyone that donated, shared, liked and commented on our post asking for a little help. Every one of those things makes a difference. With your help, we were able to get some much needed things. The grocery store receipt is for Sassy’s ulcer friendly diet. We also had a ton of blankets donated to us. I can not thank you enough. It’s very hard to ask for help. I appreciate you all.

We are asking if anyone would be willing to donate to our rescue. We are in desperate need of some fresh straw, blankets and some more meds. Just in January we have spent a fortune on meds. Pumba had a terrible UTI which we were able to treat with LA-200, B Vitamin shot, and pushed electrolytes. Sassy now has something going on with her and we may be headed to UT if this doesn’t clear up in another day. She has been on PenG for two days now, Omeprazole and electrolytes. One of our rescue roosters was also sick and is now inside until the weather warms up. He was treated with Tylan 50, electrolytes and Poultry Cell.
