Kimo, The Baby Beach Cat I was born across the street from Baby Beach in Poipu, Kauai. I bring Aloha to everyone that stays on my street. Because of Aloha, I'm not so feral anymore

My name is Kimo and I live on Ho'ona Road across the street from Baby Beach in Poipu, Kauai. I have two sisters, Kalea and Kalani. We have been neutered and spayed and have had our vaccinations. Auntie Pam, the Mistress of Baby Beach Bungalow, tells the story of how Piper, another kitty, brought us to live under her house. Piper was lost from his family for a long time and his collar was very tigh

t. Auntie Pam cut off the tiny collar and showed Piper Aloha. Piper had me and my sisters with him and showed us where to find dinner. Auntie Pam thought Piper was our mother. When Auntie Cathy, the Mistress of Hale Malanai, took Piper to the Humane Society to get her fixed, she found out that Piper was a boy and had a real home! He had a chip with their contact!! So, Piper went to live in Lawai with his family. We stayed on Ho'ona Road to become the welcoming committee for the people coming to Poipu on vacation. It's paradise living on Baby Beach! If you come to Hawaii and visit Poipu, you need to come say Aloha! Better yet, you should rent Auntie Pam or Auntie Cathy's house. It's a PURRFECT place to hang out.

Human friends, we need your help. I just found out through the coconut wireless that the county council here on Kauai has a budget meeting today (Wednesday) and they want to create a job paying $30,000 to someone to kill as many cats as they can in the budget. That money could go a long way helping with affordable spay and neuter surgeries or help with a Spay Pod. Can you help us voice an opinion and write an email to the council voicing your opposition? The address is below. You don’t have to live on Kauai. All this killing is making us very scared and very sad. Email to [email protected]

Aloha Everyone! I wanted to give you all a Baby Beach Cat update since I see what’s going on in the neighborhood every day. Things are quiet on the street in the way of visitors, but Baby Beach has been active with lots of locals. It’s nice to see people out enjoying the day. Kona is being very social bouncing between Auntie Pam and Auntie Cathy’s house and demanding a lot of attention as usual. Kimo seems to be the International Man of Mystery and just makes his presence known at random times that are frankly, too far inbetween. I think Coco is on an extended vacation, hopefully somewhere lovely, as I haven’t seen him in a while and he is typically very vocal and obvious. Popo and Koa still patrol the block getting into mischief, I assume, but won’t let me close enough to ask how they are doing. Mango and Mochi look so much alike and being both girls and best buds, I can’t tell them apart to know who is hanging with Popo and Koa. You know how girls are. Anyway, that’s the news from a bird’s eye view. Aloha and a Hui Hou!

Seems there’s been some ruckus in the hood the last couple of nights. With so many tourists gone and not in homes feeding the occasional neighborhood cats, some are strolling into the hood. Don’t worry, the Baby Beach Cats have it handled.

Warning! Morning cuteness! Kona likes to play. She also has a case of the zoomies.

How many of you know that I have another sister? Her name officially is Kilani, but she goes by Kona now. Don’t confuse her with the Kona that hangs with us. It’s just a popular name. She left home many years ago to stay with a family down the road. They love her very much. Auntie Cathy went to visit her the other day and brought some food. She looks all grown up now.

My sister, Kalea, is trying to figure out why the neighborhood is so quiet. She is an introvert, whatever that is, so she says it isn’t so bad, but she is starting to get a little bored. At least the meals keep coming, even if it’s only delivery.

Uncle Mike buys rotisserie chicken for me every time he goes to Costco. Auntie Cathy is so naive. She thinks it is for her dinner. She can have the leftovers, if there is any. 😹🙀😹

Cuteness Alert. Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you are staying safe and not too bored staying at home. I’m making myself comfy and just hanging out. It’s awfully quiet around here right now. Can’t wait to see everyone again. A Hui Hou and Aloha, from Kona. (Kimo is not following the stay at home order so I have to do his job) 😽

Hey guys, I’d love some help. I know this isn’t on Kauai and everyone has their own family and community to help, but we got bad news this morning. A trailer filled with newly purchased supplies and equipment was stolen this morning in Midland, Texas where Auntie Cathy lives. It was for an organization called “Fix West Texas”. They provide low cost spay/neuter services that are desperately needed. They are having a 3 day spay/neuter clinic next week and now this happened. If anyone would like to help, even if it is just a few dollars, that would be great. If you could just share the message with anyone that you think would be interested that would be great too. Bad people suck. I’m glad there are good people out there trying to help.

Over the last few months, the organizers, volunteers and donors behind Fix West Texas have brought … Erica Mann needs your support for Restore Fix West Texas
