Ok, my mom wants to Vent, and how and can we stop the one that loves so much, hugs, kisses, bathes, brushes, paints our nails and above all feeds us!
It seems that we see many pigs in need of homes, posted all over...so we urge everyone to research all and any animals before adopting or buying. Of course we always say OPT to ADOPT!
We know how cute we are but Did you know that pigs ( which my mother is hoping for) can live to be 20 or more years! Yes, that is 20 years of love, food, vet visits, and a whole family commitment! My mom thinks it’s wonderful that we will send our siblings off to college, and I worry about my siblings going off to college will mean less snacks! 🍉
Potbellied pigs can also be up to 250 pounds! Can you live with 250 pounds of love in your home? Or Yard? On Your furniture? In your car? My mom can, she has made our house a pig sty! 🤪
Tea cup pigs are not always tiny and just because we think they are adorable which they are, they are also not a healthy size pig to support breeding! Breeding runts with runts, makes many health issues and short life spans, and don’t you think 100 pounds is mini compared to the 1000 pound pigs we see on the farms? We sure do! Ester the pig, is a 650 pounds last time we checked, and her Dads made her their life! She was supposed to be a tiny pig when she ended up in their laps and she kept growing into the beautiful, loving and large pig that she is and yet they didn’t give up on her they changed their lives to continue loving her so she can live happily in their home! They live for their animals, just like my parents do! 🐖 🦃
As for Myself (Georgia) not as big as Ester as I’m a potbellied pig but I am working on my weight. I am 116 pounds to love and my little wild sister is a Julianna pig is 80 pounds already and will continue to grow for another year! 🤔
Also make sure before bringing a pig home you have a Veterinarian who treats Pigs, we are lucky enough to have Vet within an hour of us and they are specialized in Pigs!
Rancocas Vet takes great care of my sister and I. Did you know that Female pigs go into heat ( get their cycle) every month like humans so it’s best to spay and neuter your pigs! It help makes us less testy too! Pigs can have babies every 4 months! That’s a lot of homes needed for 20+ years of life every 4 months! 🤔
Pigs also need lots of mental stimulation, places to root, games, toys, things to think about because we are so smart we like to test and touch everything! Like drywall, sometimes needs to be tested, rooting up the grass to find fun smells, or making comfy beds are our favorite bedtime game- we pull pillows, blankets, clothes off of hangers from the closet, or anything we can get our mouths on from around the house and shred them up to make a plush bed to nuzzle and snuggle in and Sometimes toilet paper makes it in our nest too!
We love to learn, we love to work for food, we can learn lots of tricks because we think like a toddler and act like one too, we have to test constantly and push your limits to see what we can get away with just like a child! 👣🐾
If you think you can live with this for 20 years, please adopt! Pigs are fun and my mom recommends pigs if you can handle this all with a laugh and smile, but if any of this causing you to question maybe reconsider getting a pig and make a donation to a pig rescue for your love of pigs instead!
Because we are like people, we have strong emotions, we bond, we love, we get sad, and we deserve to have a family to love and grow memories with forever not till we get too big or you get too busy for! 🐽
Thanks for reading and thanks for liking our page! We sure enjoy bringing smiles around the world! 🐷
