This is gorgeous, 9 week old Atlas, an Australian Shepherd, who I saw for his Natural Balance Dog Training LTD Puppy Package today. Although his owners were already doing lots of the right things for Atlas, the package included demonstrating all our training techniques and talking about how to raise and train their puppy the best way.

Natural Balance Dog Training LTD Poundbury Pack Walk. All the dogs here have had various behaviour issues, mainly reactivity. But with the correct guidance, the owners have all worked hard, the results can be seen here as all the dogs behaved perfectly. 😃

As most of you are aware Mr Stumpy has had issues since birth.
He very nearly didn’t survive the birthing process and was born with a deformed tail, a deformed p***s, and internal issues that mean that he is peeing out of his bum.

On this basis he was the one I had to keep and and I don’t regret it in any way, he means the world to me.

I’ve been told by people who know more about breeding than me that he is a genetic throw back to the 80’s in his configuration and is a fantastic example of the original classic German Rottie.

Nature is what nature is, Khaleesi and Kai are fully health checked and what the lad has is a really rare condition that in no way could have been preempted, all the pups from the litter are perfect in every way physically except for Stumps.

I was fully aware that the likelihood was that he wasn’t going to make it but was committed to giving him every possible opportunity that I could.

So today he had CT scans so as to see exactly what was going on inside and I fully expected a negative outcome.

I’m absolutely buzzing at the moment, as subject to confirmation by the specialist who checks the images, it all seems resolvable 🤞🤞.

The procedure would entail amputating his p***s 😩, and rerouting the tube from his bladder. The success rate with this is really high and post op he would be expected to have a healthy normal life.

In no way is he out of the woods yet, just wanted to keep you guys updated as I realise that lots of you have a soft spot for the lad 🥰🥰.

In my opinion if we can get him through this he will be a fantastic stooge dog as his engagement, neutrality, and mentality is something I have never experienced in a dog this young.

All that will remain is for “him” to decide what he wishes to identify as after the operation, after all it is 2024 after all 🙈.

Anyway this is his happy face, happy that he’s walking out of the vets and not being PTS 😁😁😁😁😁

Obviously I’m on route to being financially destroyed as birthing defects are not insured.

You are worth every penny Mr Stumpy, I luv ya ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Another great pack walk around Dorchester, all dogs were on the very best behaviour which was so great to see. All of the owners here have worked hard to get their dogs over various behaviour issues, we have loved working with them all. ❤️
